Does a coach really make that much difference?

Coaches make a huge difference. Just remember when Paul Roos took over the swans. They couldn't win a chock raffle before hand.

Geez, makes you wonder about the future if the swans went ahead and took Wallace (as some were saying) instead with sticking with their care taker coach.

Nah coaches make no difference whatsoever. Get the players to read PRE on Thursday nights to find out team selections and study the weekly game plan. RFC pay our hosting costs while saving millions on coaches salaries. Wins all around. :happy

Is it just the coaches fault that Richmond have failed. No I don't think so. Its the WHOLE Club from President right down to the Boot Studder, that have failed. So as per normal it comes back to culture and what pride you have as a club.

The playing group have talent, the coach had talent as a player and won a flag as a player, he's been there and done that, so you'd think that the players would respect that bare minimum.

Communication, are the players getting whatever messages are being addressed to them personally in terms of what they need to do to improve themselves and hence the team, I don't think that is working. You can train all week on a particular issue and it will fall apart in 2 seconds on the playing field, because the team just haven't got the message, the basic's, the discipline etc.

I think we've all looked at this inside out. Sacking the coach, been there done that countless times since 1982. Players in/out, traded, delisted ditto. Clearly there are major issues at Richmond culture wise and to me that starts at the top of the Club, in others the Board of Managment and the Club President, after they are elected by the members and should duly held accountable. The coach and players are employee's of the club and should be held accountable by the President and Board and Members accordingly.

No I honestly think RFC have well and truly lost their way culture wise, which is why they need to think outside the box and be prepared to do whatever it takes to get that winning culture back into the club.

Question is, are RFC prepared to do that very thing?

You want March on your confidence course Massai?

Not a bad idea Azza, at the very least the Board should participate in some of the easier exercises that could be set.

One in all in, should be the approach that RFC now takes, I still question whether they'd be prepared to do such a thing.

A GOOD COACH MAKES A DIFFERENCE.....

But that coach also needs support in the box with him and we dont have anyone in the box who can do it.

As Rex said we look scared!

SCared of Melbourne!
