Does our new coach need to deliver a flag?

There is one of our problems - some of us want to be a pilot and fly to a flag while others just want to take time and drive the scenic route.

Me - I'm a rocket man - I know what I want and I want it now!

Good analogy. I like the Great Ocean Rd to Warrnambool rather than the Pacific Hwy. You get to appreciate the view along the way and you are so grateful to get out of the car when you get there.

He'll need to turn RFC players into MEN ............... who live and breathe commitment to get the hard ball and build a passionate dedication to winning with courage and respect for their role in what it means to be part of creating a great legacy.

Flags will be a consequence of that passion.

Flags and even finals appearances might be the easiest way to judge the coach's performance but IMO a flag doesn't necessarily reflect the best team or the best coach. A fair bit depends on injuries, timing, draw, luck, etc. However the style of play DOES reflect the coach.

I would be satisfied in the new coach if I see a better style of play and better use of our players. If the right coach can nail this stuff, the current list will make finals easily. Flag, who knows ???.
