Does the AFL have the aroma of a RAT around it?

Dunno if this has been posted yet
but Adrien Anderson is a weasel and that is close to a rat

Maybe you are just getting them confused RT

hmmmm i think i smell a rat too!
but i believe it may even be another way, could this very well be like the Lockett to sydney over richmond???
could they want cousins to play alongside the gold coast in their development? its pretty hard to go to night clubs with 17 year olds, probably a bit harder than normal teens. the thing i mostly cant understand is why does cousns HAVE to play AFL in his rehab? surely if he found a VFL or a SANFL even WAFL team in which he not only trains with the state level team but with the AFL team too. i think ricky nixon has tried to pull a rabbit out of the hat and found a rat!

The AFL are dumb but not that dumb. The consequences of a back room chat ever seeing the light of day would be far to damaging for the AFL and even Adolf could see that.

Reality is they didn't need too. for the following reason;

1. Nixon has done that job for them with the way he managed Cousins comeback efforts;
2. Benny turning up for a hair test with a crew cut and a body wax.
3. His "I won't play" outburst the day after the decision was not the smartest move;
4. His continuing associations with gangsters be it dead or alive.

I'm afraid he is his own worst enemy when it comes to Ben Cousins..........

He has shown no remorse or contrition since day one and that has hurt his chances.

Did man really land on the moon?
Was the US Government behind 9-11?
Is Elvis alive and well?

Now we can add this tripe.

look i gotto say i smell a bit of a rat. the tough rules imposed on him by the AFL would have put most clubs off. not defending cousins, but most people deserve a second chance and city hall arent helping him.

A second chance? How the hell is Ben only on his second chance?

This is a very good point that gets lost on many.

Cousins is not on his second chance as is regularly touted.

He was suspended and out of football for 14 weeks, he was not even allowed to train with the Eagles. He came back and reverted to old ways so had to be delisted. THAT was his second chance and he blew it, about 12 months ago.

To date, he is not inspiring confidence, whether he is clean or not, by the company he is keeping and the decisions he is making or allowing others to make for him, he is hurting himself badly.

He needs to take ownership of his life, decide what is most important and get fair dinkum and certainly more transparent. Instead of playing cloak and dagger and trying to keep a foot on either side of the fence.

Addiction/drugs...being wasted and making sensational media as a result, is not the source of the problem.

It's only a symptom of a deeper problem.

Ben has to stop playing with what the world can see, and take ownership over deeper matters.

Amen to that DD, and that is why the biggest and most competative sporting clubs on our continent have said no to him. As risk versus reward goes, the risk ain't worth it.

IMO Cuz should accept a one year minimum wage contract with Coburg on the understanding that the RFC will select him in the 2009 pre-season draft if (1) he's available and (2) he's been clean for 12 months and passed all the AFL test.
