what tends to happen is that when a bone breaks it numbs when used and the person can no longer feel pain after a period of time. thios is what may have happened to the lawnmower man
 
I did find it amazing he went back on.

I saw him leave the field with trainers at the half time break, with his arm in a sling.

Then I saw him back on the field during the first quarter.

I'd love the know why he was allowed back onto the field? Surely that risks far greater damage?
