I think Tim lane summed it up very well on tens coverage last night.

He said that Sheeds introduced this tactic and has used it himself before.

More salt for the wounds Sheeds. ;D

thats exactly right. but he doesn't play "that basketball crap"

the other thing you guys have to remember is that you need to be pretty skillful by foot to play tempo footy. it proves to me we have improved greatly in this area...

TOT70, I applaud and appreciate your insights into the game but please...."quarterback"?  I beg you to leave the Americanisms to Americans.

The term annoys me too but we don't really have a name for this role in Aussie rules yet.

It is the Andrew Macleod/James Hird/David Wirrpanda position.  Running half-back?  I dunno!

if it's not called a quarterback...

or a running half-back...

how about a wide receiver?  :cheeky

Nah, more like a "sweeper" in soccer....plays as a spare man back and cleans-up the loose ball!

For the first time since 1982, Richmond have kicked 20 goals in a match, 3 games in a row.  Yet people complain that one aspect of the last match was boring.   ::)

I see it another way.  Out of 3862 positive posts some people like to focus on the one negative comment when in reality it's more about a tactic than about our team anyway. ;)
