PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

When you look beyond the coaches and players there have been many behind the scenes over the last 27 years.

Greg Beck
was trying to calm a caller down on 'Club Corner' when pushed as to who he had picked up of value in the draft. He was pushing Andrew Krakour as a jewell and the caller was laughing at him. The caller by the way wasnt 'Billy from Heidelberg' but even he would have seen through Becks attempt to defend his recruiting performance.

Mal Brown got an ego rush by pushing Cameron Schwabb out on the Sunday Footy Show and was a disruptive force behind Northey. He undermined Northey and was one of the reasons for losing Swooper.

Graeme Richmonds' final years were not pretty but its hard to name him when he was so effective in the seventies. Often wondered if success with guys like Malthouse,Landy from other clubs and interstaters like Wiley,Roach and Hart meant we stopped developing our own in what was a good reserves and U19s system.

Greg Miller failed in my book. Couldnt find the next Wayne Carey (which he is proud of telling people) and got us the next Daniel Wells instead. Maybe im overrating Buddy a bit but im certainly flattering Tambling. Could have ended up with Soloman on a fat contract. We should have never have taken Miller for stealing Daryl Vernon (Hulk Hogans mini me) from us when he was at the Swans.
