Would prefer the feralism is directed at the opposition, but don't think it should be discouraged unless taken to extremes like spitting on the coach. If the cap doesn't fit, don't wear it.
Nothing wrong with being frustrated and so forth, but I think sometimes our frustration becomes excessively mean spirited.
I like the attitude of most Richmond supporters. We were disgusted in the spitting freak, yet a woodsman I know brags about the day she spat on Worsfold at Vic Park. We hate losing, but get over it and deal, I still think there is nothing worse than a filthy bomber after a loss.
I suppose I don't want to see our spirit and passion turn us into cliques of what other supporters expect of us, or that (God forbid) we become the next Collingwood or Port Adelaide.

Initially I was shellshocked as we started losing games, now I'm just getting angry. I just want to have a win then go out and have a few jars and have a laugh about the losing streak. But while we're in it, it's pretty hard to cop. A Bombers fan grabbed me and started giving me crap as I made a beeline for the exit last Sat night, and I turned around and gave him an absolute spray. I don't regret it, but emotions are running high at Tigerland now
I try to avoid criticising players without justification here and with mates. A bit of constructive analysis, lot's of it, but "dud" has such a silly ring of finality to it that it just comes across as unconsidered.

Pretty hard to say which players would go into others best 22 TTT look at Rodan just borderline our 22 but playing good footy for Port Polak was not in Freo's best 22 no playing good footy for us so it all depends on structure & how the team plays what the different coaches can get out of each player etc.
I like to add that RFC where not the only club whose supporters where seen as "ripping" actually cutting or breaking - their plastic membership cards but also Carlton were the last club doing this. It happened when they got their first wooden spoon. But when you have media personalities who are totally bias in continually reporting RFC in a bad light it doesn't help change a perception to the genral public.rosy23 said:
Also in the case of spitting, the man hunt and media frenzy to find a spitter in the end in QLD was worthy of a murder investigation. I don't condone it but it was farciscal. As far as supporters spitting on opposing clubs, Colligwood where the worse in the past especially at Victoria Park & also more recently Port Adelaide supporters were also spiiting & urinating onto the Pies players (maybe I sould applaud that one :hihi) from above in AAMi stadium but as it was never caught on camera so it is hard to prove. So in affect RFC spitter was caughton camera so again perception is pushed onto us.
I'll add another spin. I had once spoken to a goal umpire who I worked with and asked him who were the most feral supporters he had heard when officiating. He advised based on abuse towards players (their own & opposing) & officials.... Hawthorn was named to my amazement.

Unfortunately Mr. Bundy I am aware of all you mentioned, but none of that sells copy like the image of feral Richmond supporters. Righty or wrongly we have a bad rep, and the media love perpetuating it any chance they get. This then does have flow of effects for attracting new supporters and sponsors.

One example is that Sheehan has said it himself openly that he purposely looks forward to write articles of RFC in a negative light because we are the only club when it happens the sales of his glorious Heraldsmut go through the roof. Its all about the $$$ & he doesn't care the damage he does.

In a world were so many players are given the "champion" status so easily, labeling the "dud" just as quickly provides some balance.
too many of you Richmond supporters just accept the losing ways of the RFC, its become part of the culture at the club. Open your eyes and see why the club is so pathetic.
If we have so many good players, why the hell are we sitting on the bottom of the ladder. Without a doubt the WORST list in the AFL.
Fact is there are too many DUDS at the club.
I just love how the club sacks Gaspar stating they are going to play kids. Why the hell do they play a hack in Kingsley who cant even kick 30 metres.
I am sure people think Pettifer is a real champion isnt he. Oh what about Tampon. Sorry I mean Tambling. People wonder why Richmond picked up Fiora. Well Tambling is a bigger dud than Fiora is.
