Everybody, loves somebody

As far as Dusty's Dad is concerned personally I don't like laws that place guilt by association, to me it's a slippery slope.

This was a question I asked at the time which was never answered. I'll vote for law and order over scumbags every time but this seems terribly unfair, especially given the soft government response to the real crime wave currently engulfing Melbourne.
Agree 100%. Never convicted of a crime, should not be deported.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a reasonable response from that intellectual giant Dutton. He's too busy trying to work out a way of getting all Muslims deported.

I'm the same.
I remember in Queensland in the late 70's, Bjelke-Peterson bought in a law that a group of three people in the street was an illegal gathering and you could all be arrested.
Of course the Queensland police (one of whom was Dutton) loved it and proceeded to arrest any kids, particularly the punks, or indeed anyone they didn't like the look of.
Of course the group of old ladies from the CWA were not touched.
It's the same with all these recent laws.
Blame it on the terrorists.
Say it's for our own good.
And only arrest or punish your enemies - social and political - who are in the minority.

Reckon we would be singing a different tune if it was Lennon's Dad.

Yep exactly - until there are no minorities left, in which case we start carving up the majority.

"First they came ..." is a famous statement and provocative poem written by Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the cowardice of German intellectuals following the Nazis' rise to power and subsequent purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. ”

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

funny how my brain works, I saw 'Dustin Martins' biki' on the thread title and was terrified it was going to be a scandal involving Dusty and a Bikini.

Good to see Dusty out of the news. Hanging with Swanny is paying off.

So he has committed no crime but because of association, he is deported. FFS

Even more stupid is that I don't think he even plays a part in that stuff anymore???

To think he has 3 sons who are doing well with their lives and contributing greatly to the nation [including 6 month duty in Afghanistan] you would think the government would be inclined to give him at least a warning.

I don't profess to know the details of this story but on the face of it, it reeks of BS!!!

Classic 50's style law. Guy does not suit the perfect citizen because he is in a "bikie gang" and not the Lions Foundation, deport him!

Thats Australia for ya these days. You just have to look different and they'll deport you!

You don't even have to look different. That's just an added bonus for canberra.

Easy on the "Canberra" thing there. These tools are from Queensland (Dutton, Brandis). This government wouldn't get the vote of Canberrans in a million years and so Canberrans don't deserve to be branded in any way with the stench of this pathetic government.
