early picks in the SuperDraft?

And with Millers recent record pick 4 will be our only pick to replace Stafford through retirement as the club retains all of the same hacks yet again.

Only problem with trying to trade some of our players for early picks in the so called superdraft is that we have stuff all to trade.
We have a serious gap in the 23/27 year old competent seasoned player dept. Our list is mainly a bunch of tired old farts nearing the end of their careers or a bunch of promising young kids still being developed and it's probably a waste to trade a kid you have put two years work into for another kid that needs two years work to get him started.
Think there will be probably 3or4 retirements at end of the season and maybe the same amount of delistings with the possibility of 1or 2 trades at most and the trades would likely be a player swap rather than draft picks.
Would mean that we change the list by between 6 to 10 players by end of 2006.

Does anyone know how the new system works without the priority pick for less than 6 wins???

Do you get any reward for poor performance now (even I laughed when Hughesy said the Tigers were playing for draft picks!)?

The only players I wouldn't trade would be Tuck, Deledio,Johnson and brown.
The rest are all up for trade if I was incharge.
Add class to the little bit of class we have.

All the cogs fans I'm sorry i love him and his work ethic but lets be honest the boy can't kick, that is the only thing stopping him becomeing a star /class player.
I would trade cogs for Kerr and a pick any day of the week.

Back to trading players for picks. From an outside perspective on the Tiger's list, either you'd have to give up something too valuable to get some great picks (Brown, Richo, Couglan, Tuck, etc.) which you couldn't afford, or you wouldn't have enough to offer to get a first round pick in this highly rated draft.

Shane Tuck valuable ???
He's just an average player at best.

jeez skills you have a short memory dude!

Early picks in the superdraft sound good to me.

we have holes we need to cover.

Wallace has drafted a good future team already

Howat (rookie) is the oldest at 21 and 2 months. All the rest are under 21.

Thursfield McGuane Raines
Casserley Schulz Hartigan
Tambling Deledio
Oakleys
Meyer Pattison jackson
Foley hughes Limbach
Foll: Graeme Polo White
I/C: Howat Roach

and 11 have got a game already.

1. keep our draft picks.
2. keep drafting.
3. Keep developing.
4. keep trading our oldies for draft picks.

dirty dog, thats the most promising richmond team i have seen in a long time
would rather have seen that team get flogged on friday than the one that ran on the field

6 is not enough,

id throw stafford and hall in there purely to belt blokes and protect the kids
