Overnight Results

Man City 1 v Man Utd 0

Blackburn 1 v Arsenal 1

Liverpool 1 v Chelsea 1

Good to see man utd get beat Sven has City on top of the pile atm. Lehman gifted blackburn a point an absolutely awful error. Chelsea should never have gotten a point a *smile* awful decision to award Chelsea a penalty. It had Benitez and Moaninho grumbling after the game. Moaninho thinks his sh!t doesn't stink he's a pompous little bastard.

From a laymans perspective its refreshing to see City on top as for me its good to see different teams having some glory, even though we know which teams who will be atop the tree in a few months.

Just found these on Youtube. Gold, solid gold.

Watch Rio Ferdinand's British version of Punk'd.

First Wayne Rooney;

I'm sure Styles is dancing all the way to the bank with his bag of roubles too.... >:(

You lot will keep.....maybe another Champs.League semi to bring you back down to earth again? ;D

Don't blame styles. It was that dud Rice-o-Risse's fault.

Should've had a hat trick.

Scousers were absolutely shafted. Only consolation is that Liverpool were all over Chel$ea and the Torres/Kuyt partnership looks extremely promising.

Fell over laughing at Lehmann's howler as well - what a tosser...!

Evo,
Riise does *smile* me sometimes with him trying to score "goal of the season" every time he has the ball.
He has that reputation now for scoring howitzers from way out, so thinks he should try it all the time.....I guess similarly to Foley trying to score those running goals against the Eagles on the weekend, when kicking to a leading forward would have been the team thing to do.
We also should have killed the game by scoring a 2nd and 3rd goal, as there were large periods we dominated, especially in the first half.
So that part of it was disappointing.

Having said that, as we saw with the Manchester Derby....the best team doesn't always win (I watched that game also, and City were lucky, and Ferguson needs a striker next to Tevez NOW, before the title slips past them before the end of September!).....and Chelsea hung in there, and created some chances too.

On the game itself, and chances created, probably a draw was a fair result....however, fair results don't exists, and Styles cost Liverpool 2 points with that disgraceful decision. >:(

As for Moaninho....well, he is in good form already, with this ludicrous statement:

"I think I have a naive team because we don't have divers, don't have violent people, nasty tacklers and don't have people diving in the swimming pool. Chelsea are a pure and naive team."

:rofl :rofl :rofl

Never seen such a one sided game where the dominant team lost. City are average.

Too late now....and stuff the apology...how about the 3 points? :-\

Styles Stood Down Over Foul-Up
Aug 21 2007 03:08
Rob Styles has apologised to Liverpool after admitting he was wrong to award a penalty to Chelsea during the 1-1 draw.
The match official has accepted he made a mistake in penalising Steve Finnan and as a result he will not be given a match to referee this weekend.
Styles said: "All referees enter into matches hoping not to make any mistakes but understanding that they may happen, what none of us want is for any mistake to potentially affect the result of the match.
"Yesterday, in mistakenly awarding a penalty, I accept that I may have affected the result of the match and for that I apologise."
Styles awarded Chelsea a penalty which enabled the Blues to equalise even though Finnan appeared to make no contact with Florent Malouda.
Referees' chief Keith Hackett said officials had to be accountable for mistakes.
He said: "We have in place systems that will analyse each decision a referee makes.
"Referees are aware of the accountability that exists, as are the managers and players, and we expect referees to get big decisions correct.
"On this occasion it was wrong and therefore Rob will not be officiating next weekend.
"I spoke to Rob this morning and obviously he is extremely disappointed with the decision and admitted he got it wrong. I have left a message with Rafael Benitez to apologise."

Hackett also confirmed another mistake by a match official when assistant referee Ian Gosling did not award Fulham a late goal at home to Middlesbrough when David Healy clearly forced the ball over the line.
He added: "Clearly the assistant referee has made an error, so he won't be operating next week for us either."
The Premier League are to press ahead with trials on goal-line technology being developed by the company Hawkeye.
Hackett said: "It is still in its testing stage but we hope when it is judged to be fail-safe then it will be used.
"Everyone in football recognises that goal-line systems can provide help for the referee to make his decision."

Meanwhile, Hackett will also ensure there is no repeat of the confusion when Styles appeared to book Michael Essien when instead he was still showing the card to John Terry.
Hackett added: "I'm informed by both the fourth official and Rob he retained the card shown to John Terry then held the card to indicate a direct free-kick, and failed to put the card away. So it was a basic, if you like, admin error as against an error in application of law.
"We'll look at the video to ensure we don't get a repeat of that."

Evo,

Obviously he is apologising now because after exchanging his roubles into pound-sterling, he has realised the whole thing wasn't worth it. :hihi

Us Reds expect some "evening up" to happen later in the season...maybe in a more important game, maybe involving another goal-line "did it cross the line or didn't it".....if ou know what I mean... ;)

Anyways, enough of this idiot Styles....how do you reckon your mob are travelling?
And whats going on with J.Cole?
I was tempted to throw him into my 'dream-team' before the start of the season, but he seems to hardly get any game time these days. ???
I wouldn't have thought the likes of Obi Kenobi and Kalou had surpassed him.

I reckon we're looking mighty good.I'm more confident this year than I was of last.Even diud- Phillips seems to be looking a bit better.Essien in the middle rather than back four makes look alot more potent too.

We're playing more expansively, although I hope we play even more expansively in future. We went back in our shells a bit against the Scous.

I've always reckoned Joe Cole was a bit over rated personally.i agree Kalou has over taken him and I reckon Malouda might turn out better for us than both of them.

Man.Ure are already stuffed(isn't rooney out for another 3 or 4 weeks or did i hear that wrong?)It's going to be a blue year brother, mark my words.

It wouldn't suprise me if the Scous finish 2nd this year.

Evo,
You sound confident, and rightly so for the money you lot have spent on this squad.
However, one weakness I think you have is your defence.
Already, you have conceded in every game, and have been behind in every game....that has to be a bit of a concern, especially if that trend continues when you play clubs like ManUre, Arsenal, and Liverpool....who won't normally let you back into it.

Malouda does look good....and I agree, Essien is far better in midfield, where he should be playing, rather than the centre of defence.
However, that was because last season you were short of centre-backs after you got rid of Huth, hence why you have Ben Haim partnering Terry, until Carvalho is ready to resume.

Yep, Rooney is out for a while...and with Saha out, as well as Solskjaer....then Tevez is having to be used as a lone-striker, or as we saw on the weekend, with Scholes playing off him.
You know they are getting desperate when you see the likes of Campbell coming on, a player most people had never heard of before.
Like you, I reckon they're gone too, unless they buy a striker quick-smart to partner Tevez.....ah...if only they had kept Alan Smith.... :hihi
And the Gabriel Heinze issue isn't over yet either....with a bit of luck, Heinze might be wearing Mersey Red by the weekend, but once more lawyers get involved, it'll probably drag on... :-\

As for finishing 2nd.....2nd would be better than 3rd, as we don't have to go through the Champs.League qualifying (and trust me, Toulouse won't be easy next either, even though we won 1-0 over there last week).....but I don't like finishing 2nd even, and it is far too early to give up on our own title hopes.

C'mon the Redmen....lets get number 19.... 8)
