I haven't watched the game, I just listened to Rex Hunt pull out what was left of his hair on 3AW. Inept, incompetent, inconsistent woeful, failure, won't, don't, can't, shouldn't, missed his target, threw the ball, gave away an easy 50 metre penalty, no tackling, no backing up, no getting into space, too slow etc etc, what more needs to be said about the way this team is approaching its football.
First things first. IMHO Troy Simmonds, Nathan Brown, Nathan Foley, Brett Delidio, drop all them back to Coburg. Simmonds woeful, Brown even though he kicked a couple of goals woeful, Foley has lost it so too Delidio, Tuck is not far behind them. McMahon is just bloody useless, back to Coburg for bloody good. Matthew White should be sent back to Coburg as well, his turnovers were just unbelieveable. If that means next week, we play 6 new players up from Coburg and the Rookie List so be it. Let the ones that are dropped stew and think about what they've done. They should be clearly told that they are now officially playing for their playing careers.
As for the Coach well, I'll leave that to others, but you could have GOD coaching this team and he'd get nowhere with them either.
Training this week, the entire playing group DOES NOT WEAR Richmond colours, they can wear PLAIN WHITE T SHIRTS AND SHORTS. The players should all cop a dressing down by the coaching staff in front of each other. No if's but's, not my fault the ball bounced the other way, the umpire couldn't see etc etc for excuses, stiff, get the individual players angry at their own failures, then use that anger to turn it around into positive motion by working it out on the track. Not one Player is to wear the clubs training colours until that player has successfully completed a training drill correctly at least 3 times in a row as set down by the coaching staff. Throw in a couple of unscheduled training drills, say 10pm or 4am, for practising kicking/handball/tackling etc followed by a nice easy run around the tan. Any chatter cops the entire player group extra situps and pushup's, peer pressure will follow and the player at fault will feel the heat, nothing needs to be said.
NO MEDIA INTERVIEWS OR MEDIA WORK by the Richmond Players or Coaching Staff.
Stiff bloody chedder, Nathan Brown can get off his overpaid backside and start to earn the money this club is paying him. If he can't do it, its Coburg and delisted at years end. Ditto anyone else who thinks the media is more important than the club.
Gary March as Club President can handle the media, should be a piece of *smile* "NO COMMENT", the media can go and stew. Any leaking should be dealt with if its by a staff member with the sack, if its a player the maximum fine available to the club for disobeying club directives.
Can the Tigers turn it around, yes they can, but they need to start working damn hard on it and the above is one hard way of doing it. Nowhere near as hard as I'd like to do them but you need off season time to do what I think needs to be done at RFC and the playing group.
