Interesting about Gourthis. Firstly if he plays senior footy today for Coburg I'll be waiting in anticipation to read/hear how he performs. Gourthis has shown something, kicking needs work, but elevating him, if eligible, wouldn't be a bad idea.

agree geoffry, believe he was selected to play today, well the coburg tigers are 33 pts up at half time with 9 team goals so looking fwd to seeing how he went today...

2009 VFL Seniors

Bendigo Bombers 0.3 4.4 28
Coburg Tigers 2.4 9.7 61

You think he'll turn it on after the trot?

i dont know mate, 10 games spread over 2.5 yrs tells me nothing about him, sure he has skill and can take a grab but i want to see 10 games on the trot, have the coaches tell him we're playing u for the rest of the year or X amount of games and this is what we want, now after that we can make some sort of meaning to where he's at, thats what im trying to articulate here...

We dont have to - our best is good enough to get us to 16th :rofl

aint that the truth but i think we know it is now time to start looking ahead, to plan now for next year...

The fact is that the season is shot and we all know that players the likes of Bowden, Simmonds, Petttifer, Schulz, McMahon are unlikely to be there next season so why bother playing them? The Tigers have played a few youngsters this year and Nahas, Collins and Rance have all shown something. It wouldn't hurt to at least give others the opportunity. It may even get an unlikely win. The way it's going I don't think they'll win another game this season, as long as we keep seeing the same players make the same mistakes week after week.

I have my reservations on Connors, unless he seriously gets himself fit to AFL standards then he is wasting his time. He is lazy passenger that goes MIA, not to mention Puffy Chest's second efforts are zilch.

Very close to writing off Connors, his work rate is zero and he is verging on timid at the contest.

I don't agree on gifting games to kids who don't yet deserve it. Make them earn it and they will be better for it!

In saying that, if a kid is showing enough and it's a close call between a kid and an older player then by all means play the kid!

I think that's what we're saying, quite a few older senior players dont deserve their spot, so give it to the kids. At the very least they are getting valuable experience. Of course not if they are completely obviously not ready but under any other circumstance, yes.

With the Tigers 1 win 8 losses, should we be slanting the bias towards youngsters? I would hazard to say that EVERY other club would so why not the Tigers?

Saw him drop a sitter in the centre square when he tooks his eyes off the footy because of some slight front on pressure. A poor effort.

I have always thought he enjoyed the physical aspect to the game, but perhaps need to re-evaluate.

No. We should never put the cue in the rack. >:(

I agree.

Everyone is saying we shouldtank, even from round 4! But reality is, even if we have the picks, there are no guarntees what we pick will turn out what we would like (not going to name any players)

We should be trying our best to get as many wins as possible. Get the off field recruiting and development of players we do pick right.

If we dont start winning some games, the money dries up. No money means we cut back on scouts and development and we go back to square 1.

Well yes that one episode would cause me to completely re-evaluate a person. Give Connors a break he's only played a handfulof games and come of an interrupted season through injury. Needs a decent period in the ones.

Still waiting on Claws few on this thread :hihi what will he decide? or anyone elses with a few to tanking...

my view was the tank should have been on last yr because of where the list was and i got howled down.
shesh just imagine watts rich at 1 and 2 and swift at 19. backed up this yr with maybe a scully and butcher. 2007 cotchin rance and pears which is what i wanted bloody hell the future would be rosy especially if we had continued to cut hard into the list. people will say hindsight is a wonderful thing but its what ive pushed and continue to do so.
i have to ask ferals what worth do they place on those wins against bottom 8 sides last yr now. they have come at an enormous cost.

claw i was actually getting excited reading all those names and then reality set in we dont have most of em..

Yep in 2007 i wanted selwood or pears for pic 19 but TW picked up a superstar recruit still finding his way at the burgers at age 25.

We cannot afford to win more than 4 games this yearr this will kill me as i go every week but when the draft is on it wont matter when say 3 pics in the top 20 are ours...pics 3, 18 and 19....melb will have pics 1 and 2 unless we can manafacture something, it wont happen though as bailey knows what he has to do...last chance to clean up at the draft and us too can do well with pics 3 (priority pic 18) and pic 19 and onwards...

Hopefully this time around we can trade out players for pics and enhance our draft order even more.....
