Was it arrogance or fear that made the club fight tooth and nail, when they could have chosen the Cronulla path instead?
Big chief little big man. Never goes down without litigating the *smile* out of everyone within spitting distance.

They were heading towards the Cronulla path with David Evans as President. My feeling has always been that Hird intervened and got him to stand down in the end, then Little took over and the Hird view at the club prevailed and they fought.

yeah it looked as if Hird shafted and pushed one of his best mates under the bus - looked as if Evans had a nervous break down as a result.

When will they realise that the Essendon list isn't that good. They had one season where they all played out of their skins and looked dangerous, but that involved feeling like a pin cushion

Nothing really wrong with their list. At the start of this season they had more All-Australians than we did. Remains to be seen
whether Caracella can bring some consistency to their ball movement.

I have them as possible improvers.

Meaningless when one of their AAs was Merrett preferred to Cotchin in 2017, which was a joke and would be a travesty if it meant anything. They are *smile*. One of the worst midfields in the league, they get pushed around by Carlton. *smile* forward line, especially without Daniher. Tippa one of the most overrated players in the comp. They only score from backline launches, which they can't do against good teams. Crap team, worse club.

They have little creativity in their midfield, they have possession accumulators. Essendon is the sort of team who can have 50 more possessions than us and we still win easily.

Got to remember they are getting a 1st round draft pick, Daniher back for 2020.

Gotta love the Bombers trade period, mission accomplished!!! They kept two players - one a perennially injured key forward who doesn't want to be there and a flakey half-forward who doesn't want to be there.

Mission accomplished.

Saw Sheedy interviewed for his new book, the total denial shows no signs of waning, re hird, said something like he was a great coach except dank happened, like it could happen to anyone, no one had any say in it, no responsibility. Amazing but not surprising
