PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Surely the excitement he has given us supporters about the year ahead is worth his selection alone.

Our team, with Cousins now in the fold, plus our improvement over the last half of last year, natural progression of our youngsters, and the loss of perennial losers such as Tivendale and Hyde has got me more excited about a season than I can ever remember.

In the past, we would have had an aging team of dropkicks, with holes all over the field and THEN pick up some experienced player and be expected to be happy.

This time is completely different.

We're strong off the field financially for the first time in 20+ years, have list managers and management with some balls, have a proven coach that actually makes sense when he talks for the first time in 25 years, have some actual depth in most positions on the field and THEN we've added a Brownlow medalist to top that all off. I've got butterflies just thinking about the possibilities of the next few years. AND we've got some intelligent Tiger people back at the club in Campbell and Sheedy.

So even if Cousins doesn't work out, the exciting thought of the possibilities of where this team is headed is worth his selection alone.

I'm more prouder, and more in love with this club, than I have ever been since I was born in 83.

Congrats Richmond. I'm bloody proud to be a Tiger supporter right now. :clap :hearton
