Don't think Jackson was there long enough to influence the 05 draft, perhaps we were still hampered by our lack of funds available for a proper recruiting network.
2005 looks like it could very much be a total bust year for us. Two players that are still highly doubtfull and one that can't get on the paddock.

Having a bob each way again oldie ;D

After only 2.5 years I don't see how you can't.
At this point most of his selections are unproven.

Edwards (25 games) - Looks promising. I think Shane will make it.

Riewoldt (19 games) - Still early days but looks to have the goods.

Hughes (15 games) - Looks Ok. Uncertain at this point.

Jarrad Oakley Nicholls (9 games). Hasn't impressed at all. Uncertain at this point.

Cotchin (8 games) - Budding superstar but most would have selected him at pick 2 so selecting him wasn't rocket surgery.

Connors (5 games) - Looks Ok. Uncertain at this point.

Andrew Collins - (0 games) - Looks Ok. Uncertain at this point.

Travis Casserly (0 games) - Struggled to get fit. Uncertain at this point.

Alex Rance - (0 games) - Uncertain at this point.

Dean Putt - (0 games) - Uncertain at this point.

Carl Peterson (0 games) - Delisted.

Yep, from memory, it was Frank who saw JON mowing the lawns. (He worked part time in 2005 iirc).

Miller said at the first draft night that Wallace didn't interfere with recruitment, because he doesn't get time to view junior footy, so he'd go with the recommendations of the recruiting team. They did look at the list distribution between ages and positions (rucks, inside mids, outside mids etc). Then all of this was presented to the match committee for their input prior to the draft night we had.

Maybe Phantom or someone can correct me, but I think we had Frank looking after WA (with help from Ash Prescott), we had Danny Meyer's Dad volunteering for SA, and Miller himself in QLD. I'm sure there were other volunteers at the time, but I know some of them bailed cause they weren't getting paid.

So, I'm pretty sure we can give Frank credit for JON And Cassarley directly.

FJ began as recruiting officer for the 2005 draft. JON was his man. The Steamer was consensus and Casserley was Frank's.

Frank has no significant say in the trading as I understand it.

As for rookie and preseason drafts, I'm sure somebody has the scoop. Info available on wiki, I think.

For those who don't remember him Frank was a vigourous lightly framed CHB. Huge competitor who punched well above his weight. State class player.

To this day they have not invented the razor blade on planet Jackson. Hippie. ;D
