Our Fab Five (Our Top 5 2004 picks) are undefeated when all playing together. This run goes on hold until Lids comes back, but hopefully the kids can keep their form until he does. Their collective form was terrific.

Lids - was very prominant early until injured.
Bling - his best game, just keeps improving now that he's fit.
Danny Boy - form in Coburg is ancient history, good game.
Patto - not the best this week, but he's definately got game.
Marco - can this kid find the footy or what, hopefully kicking will improve.

Now lets see if we can turn this into the Magnificent Seven by adding Limbach and Mcguane!

Whilst I'm on it, lets get a second Fab Five on the field (the last 5 picks of the 2003 draft) Roach, Jackson, Tuck, Hartigan, Raines.

Not a bad effort after all from Beck, or was it Miller, anyway I don't care who it was, they are about to nail the best home grown crop for the RFC since the Draft began.

i think it would be fair to throw in the pick of Pettifer at 9 in the 2000 draft as well.... he was apparently the best small forward in the TAC and was a suspect pick. The 4 years that followed sprouted no justification for that pick and becks head was called for. Look at Kayne now...he is one of the most dangerous small forwards in the AFL!! It just shows that patience and opportunity is so important with these kids out of the draft and to not let media and supporter pessimism get in the way.

That's fantastic. So good to finally see the club starting to go places.

Wasn't it pick 8? Not that it matters. ;)

And a good coach. Makes me wonder whether there have been a few at the RFC who have had their careers ruined by poor coaching. Bit sad if it is the case. I can see that there are a few here now (Tuck, Krak, Petts) that were on the edge of obscurity and are now making some very valuable contributions.

any richmond rising star nominations this week people?

we have to get Patto  and Mayer nominated, foley too of course.    :clap
Tambling had a great game! Would have to be nominated!

For the 1,000,000th time, RICHARD TAMBLING CAN NOT BE NOMINATED BECAUSE HE HAS PLAYED TOO MANY GAMES!

It's interesting that about half the side was made up of 2 national drafts - when we opted for kids instead of rejects.

2000 - Pettifer, Coughlan, Newman, Hyde, Krakouer
2004 - Deledio, Tambling, Meyer, Pattison, Polo.

This shows how you can turn your club and fortunes around if you focus on recruiting kids instead of patching up your list.

Gee its great having a coaching panel knowing what they are doing, these kids are really coming along nicely under their guidence, maybe Beck wasnt as bad as we thought but we should be blaming our coaching staff lead by a coach who was not credentialed for the gig, this man set us back years.
With the improvement of Tucky,Petts,Krackdaddy,Hally, under Wallaces guidence,I ask the question could Fiora be firing also if he was still in Tiger colors ?? :don't know.
Frawley not only stuffed up footballers futures but also staff members under him.
Still a long way to go but for once in a very long time,I feel we are in the right hands :clap :clap

I thought this too and I reckon he would have been really good under Wallace. His natural game style was to run and try to take on the opposition which, as we know, is just what Terry likes. Still I'm more than happy to give up Fiora to get Meyer and Patterson (and the extra $500K). Hopefully they both make it.

If we still had Fiora, we wouldn't have Simmonds right now. I know which one I'd rather have............

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The
Fab 5-2004[Lids,Tambo,Meyer,Patto & Polo]

Someone send this to Greg Miller.

There is the blueprint to success for any club. I am amazed that more clubs don't see this.
