Bearing this in mind I still believe that we rely on too few genuine players, and have a weak 2nd and 3rd tier.
I also think we are short on for KPP and ruckman, and its not hard to see a potential nightmare evolve when the injuries start occuring.
As for flankers and small mids we have far too many IMO, and I see the balance a little lop sided.
The two glaring weaknesses I see are fullback and the midfield. Midfield particularly. We don't have any genuine stars that have materialised YET..
However I was very optimistic about the coming season a few weeks back and because these trial games are notoriously unreliable, I still am.
I honestly think with a young developing side anythings possible.
When you ad a fit NG Brown, Newman & an invigorated Polak, there is reason for hope.
The Tigers are a bit of an unknown quantity and just as people suggest we could finish wooden spooners, we might also make the finals with a bit of luck.
Time will tell but until then no point walking around like this. . ;D
You obviously rate our 2nd and 3rd tier higher than me.
I know your a fan of Sarge and you must be confident that Polak will stand up.
I don't know why you wouldn't be concerned about the ruck? :headscratch
With Snake injured, we look awful both at the ruck contests and around the ground.
I am a little concerned about the ruck Struggs but I'm assuming Simmo's going to be right come about rnd 4 or 5 so hopefully we'll be OK there with some luck.
Sarge and Polak are going to be crucial no doubt but if they do succeed then that's two players we didn't have for the bulk of last season in the KPs. If Thursfield & Kingsley can offer something it will strengthen that region further.
It's 9lack of) quality mids that worry me most.
