Fans Training Night

don't know if Tambling is that tall Phanto

was great to see the training

Deledio impressed me the most. Thought his efforts in the smothering/tackling drill were the best from anyone. He will be ready to play roudn 1, don't you worry!

Good to see Rix busting his arse there when he is not on the list.

Was struggling to work out who was who when I got there, so gave most of my attention to the rehab group. Pattison was definitly there, they did interval (fartlec - spelling) for about 30 mins. Coughlan and Pattison had the best endurance.

Was impressed with how much Roach has bulked up.

Tambling in the running in 4's stuff at the end was impressive, he made it look easy, and was killing them in pace.

Yep. If everyone new that say the second Wednesday night every month over the summer was public training night then I'm sure that last night could become a regular feature.

Anyone know if the museum was open last night. I didn't look.

But to me the whole evening looked like the basis of some great opportunity. If the club make the most of it, by turning it into a regular feature, great. If not, then I think that it's a lost opportunity.

PS: Later last night I saw a trailer for "The Motorcycle Diaries". Couldn't have told it from the title but it's a story of the formative years of Che Guevara. I can't wait to get back to the flicks to see it.

Training was great last night, they really worked them hard. It wasn't just put on for the fans either, that has been the way they have been training the past 2 months.

Had a really good chat with Clinton Casey for about 30 minutes. He is very confident that his Ticket will get up this Saturday arvo!!!

Rix is gonna play with Coburg next year and has been promised if he performs that he will be drafted.

Hawthorn did not want to draft him after being able to Get Roughead, Franklin and Lewis. Andy Collins also told Rixy that he didnt want him at Box Hill, along with alot of other players, so he decided to play with Coburg next year instead.

Yes, I saw in our Coburg news section that Dale May has also been signed to Coburg under similar circumstances to Rix.
Good to see that we're now fully developing the potential of the Coburg FC to blood good juniors, outside of the 40 odd players on our lists, under the RFC umbrella.

Actually there was a very pretty short dark haired girl in a black business suit standing next to David Oscar, with a glass of wine in her hand. I wish she had've lifted her skirt a few inches higher.

Excellent scouting report Ghost who posts!!

I am pleased to see your keen eye for detail isn't going to waste over the summer months, and also that you could still allow yourself a decent perve on your wedding anniversary...full marks!

New mission for you,get her to join us at the London Tavern after the next training session!

I have entered plenty of dens of inequity in my life, but that joint is putrid.
You'd offer the girls more to keep their gear on than off.

You have posted on other sites that you're banned from PRE.  Changing your username doesn't hide the fact you obviously aren't banned...at the moment anyway.

You have sent me several foul mouthed e-mails telling me you have taken legal action against me and are going to close PRE down.  I'm still waiting for the letter you've said your solicitor is sending to arrive.

You are so charming you e-mailed me telling me you hope I feel the pain of my brothers situation forever. :'(

You come here imitating Phantom.  You are a troll whether you call yourself X-Cited or df1on1 as you do on your own site or any alias you choose to use here. Go away. >:(

Good Lad!
A few of us from here have all met for beers before and after our MCG games. We'll make sure to catch you next season.

Yes Rosy,
Be very careful of this X-........, from what I've seen from outside he has real psychological problems. He openly displays pornography on his avatars, doesn't think twice about vicious personal abuse.
Be very careful.

Enough of him.  Out of site, out of mind. Next time he claims to be blocked will be the first time he's telling the truth.
PRE is for people who want to be here for the right reasons, not just to stir trouble. >:(

Can anyone tell me who was wearing no 9 in yellow
36 in white & 42.
No 44 Rix trained the house down. I am most surprised he
wasnt rookied.

Rix, was impressive in size and impressive in intensity, most likely really wanting to impress. But, and this is not bagging him, when it came to ball handling, IMO lacked the top notch assuredness most of the others had.

Apart from the new draftees, the star of the show for me was Gilmour, he was at it 100% from go to whoa. Real hungry, i could see the glint in Chocos eyes everytime Gilmour was involved.

I was disappointed with Shulz. This is his 3rd year at the club but his body toning looked ordinary. He needs to spend alot more time in the gym. He lacked definition in both his thighs and upper body. Needs to work harder.

Pull your finger out kid, or you will miss the bus.
Totall agree on Sarge.

Still wondering what the deal is in respect to Morrison, the rookies looked more at home than he did, looked totally lost, slow, with the same intensity as he has shown us to date.
Unless things change dramatically for him and sarge, will be getting well accustomed to the surrounds of the Coburg footy ground.

Tigers tackle training with renewed zest

By Richmond coach Terry Wallace
richmondfc.com.au

We are now in our last week of pre-season training at Richmond before the Christmas break, with some of the players having already trained for about three months. Although the time has flown, I believe we have achieved significant improvement, both to our playing list and in our method of play.

When I first arrived at the Club, the playing group was extremely quiet, shell-shocked and lacking in self-confidence. Now, however, they are starting to regain faith in their ability to play top-level football, and have more confidence in their teammates.

From a list structure perspective, we believe the Club has been able to make some gains which will have an immediate impact in 2005. Securing seasoned league players in Mark Graham, Troy Simmonds and Trent Knobel has not only helped the depth of the senior playing list, but has also added some valuable experience to what is a very young squad. It was always the football department’s intention to become more competitive in the short term, while developing a long-term strategy with quality youth from the national draft, who will go on and become great players for the Richmond Football Club over a long, sustained period of time.

From a rookie list standpoint, Nathan Foley has been ‘re-rookied’ to the Club after a strong season with the Coburg Tigers in the VFL this year, and in the rookie draft we picked up Sandringham Dragons’ youngster, Will Thursfield, with the first selection. Will is an athletic defender who can play in a variety of positions. He has been in the elite system for only a short period of time and needs to develop his body, but he undoubtedly shows promise for the future.

The Tiger players have taken on our new training structure and accepted it very well. The training regime is very much game-based and designed to encourage players to train as they would play, with many modified games and decision-making activities integrated into the program.

Both Brian Royal and David Wheadon have worked extremely hard on the players’ skill development, which has always been the key criteria in my coaching, and it is outstanding that the Club could provide two such excellent teachers to raise the bar of expectation in this region.

David King and Steven Alessio have been a breath of fresh air at the Club, with David’s extroverted nature bringing some much-needed life to Punt Road. It’s also been a top effort by our match committee member, Gordon Casey, to organise long-service leave from his work, so that he could have a full understanding and knowledge of the playing group before Christmas. This automatically shows how committed he is to his new position.

Everyone within the football department – strength and conditioning, medical and administration – has worked extremely hard to have an immediate impact on the culture of the playing group.

This is only the first step in what will be a long journey to rejuvenate the Richmond Football Club, but as senior coach I feel very pleased with how much has changed in such a short time.

The group will rest up over a two-week Christmas break and, upon return, we will have our eyes firmly fixed on the Wizard Cup but, more particularly, Geelong in the opening round of the 2005 season . . .
