PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Thought I would try and head off some supporter rage which is often excessive on this forum. I get the feeling from our recent games that as a club we are going to have a difficult last five games. I think our:
- accumulation of serious injuries to good players
- our first and second year players being a little mentally/physically tired from their workload this year and now being forced to play on better players
- our general lack of available depth
- and the fact that opposition teams generally seem to be either playing for the finals or their futures means that they are playing mentally tougher.

Many fans will justifiably say that we should beat the teams under us going into the back-end of the season. I get the feeling however that we may not and that with a bit of bad luck we could even come out with no wins out of our last five games.

The point of this thread is that I don't want to see excessive and ignorant player and coach bagging from stunned ferals as a result. We are starting to look a little unstructured and lacking options and no amount of promoting the kids is going to change that - we have pretty much given everyone on our list a go and it is unlikely to help out win-loss. I am looking for acknowledgement that the team is starting to flag, and this combined with our lack of depth vs injuries will I believe expose us to losing to teams we beat in the first half of the draw.

I have had a look at the draw for our nearest three opponents under us on the ladder and it is tough. The sides under us will have great difficulty in passing us even if we win only one game in our last five. Our excerable percentage taken into account.
