finals week 1

tigerpride said:
anyone know the format for the first week of the finals?

1 v 4 (Geelong v Kangaroos/Hawthorn)
2 v 3 (Port Adelaide v West Coast)
5 v 8 (Kangaroos/Hawthorn v Adelaide)
6 v 7 (Collingwood v Sydney)

Teams, Time and Venues will be announced 6:30pm on ten tonight.

This is the year that a Victorian team has to win the flag. It's been our best chance in a while. Four Vic teams in the finals, two in the top 4.

I reckon Hawks can knock off the Crows in Melbourne, but i think that the Pies will get done by the Swans.

Are you serious? I couldn't give a continental about other 'Victorian' teams winning the flag and I actually hope none of them do. Especially Dawks, Scum and the Cats. I would :vomit if one of those three got up. If it has to be a Victorian team then let it be the Roos but if we can't win it then I usually go for the Crows.

I reckon the Cats are in for a huge lesson - may well beat the Roos this week but whoever they play in the Preliminary Final after that will scare the *smile* out of them.

Port look a real finals outfit but they too will come up against a toughened and almost full listed Weagles - this could be the match of the weekend

Crows will suffocate the Hawks just like Sydney did - but would not be surprized to see the Hawks bounce back - flip of the coin.

The Magpies have beaten the Swans in both encounters this year - but with a full list of Swans available (particularly their running backline) and finals footy I suspect the Swans may survive to fight on next week.

Im with you, go Swans or Crows :)

Port will beet very close to winning it this year. Lots of finals experience and coming home strong at the right time. Hawks will most likely get dumped first final which is tragic for them considering they had top 4 in the bag a couple of weeks ago. As tragic as it is no tears from me.

Totally agree!
I've never understood this thing about (Victorians) wanting another Victorian team to win.
All season long we've hated Coll, Geel, Haw etc. Why barrack for them now?
Best thing about an interstate team winning is - they go home to celebrate - and leave us in peace.

I prefer a Victorian team over an interstate team. Interstate teams have been rubbing our noses in it for far too long. Only Victorian team I would NEVER support over an interstate team is Collingwood.
