First List Lodgement Tomorrow

Official Changes made, article posted on the Richmond Website.

Departing players Mark Chaffey, Greg Stafford, Andy Kellaway, David Rodan, Tom Roach, Dean Limbach and Jeremy Humm

Richmond now has 6 vacancies on their primary list and 2 rookie places as they decide to keep Howat on the Rookie List.

Looking at these changes and with Polak being added i think Richmond will look

Pick 13 - Best Available (Midfielder/Defender)
Pick 26 - Midfielder
Pick 58 - Ruckman
Pick 60 - Midfielder
Pick 74 - Utility

PSD - Best Available

I think 26 will be what we didn't get at 13 unless there is someone pretty good that was expected to go higher

Not elevating a hard working and dedicated player, who showed quite a bit this year in Howat,

I just don't understand this club sometimes.

Especially when a continually lazy player in Krakouer keeps getting chances.

I am on the darksider side of the fence with this descision.

I guess the club is hoping to pick up enough talent in the upcoming drafts and with the return of Newman, Cogs and Brown such that they consider that Howat is not going to make the first picked 22. Plenty of time yet for Howat to get a permanent gig on the list.

I'm with you there, U2. Slightly different reasons, though...and I'm sure the darksiders won't agree with me...but I'm a little annoyed at the RFC.

Love this comment... "The Club wishes to thank departing players Mark Chaffey, Greg Stafford, Andy Kellaway, David Rodan, Tom Roach, Dean Limbach and Jeremy Humm for their commitment to the Tiger cause and wish them all the best for the future."

IMO, two and possibly three of those players didn't recieve the best from Richmond...but at least Richmond is wishing them the best after giving them the flick...well done Tigers... >:(

So Sugar was pretty much on the mark re delistings at the B&F. LMAO at the club trying to hose down the storm created by Sugar's comments re an official decision hasn't been made as yet. :rofl

Maybe he knew about Limbach as well but didn't bother wishing him well because he knew we would re-draft him. What is the risk that Limbach will get gulped up in the ND/PSD/RD?

i remember late 2001 when we chopped Hyde after one season and redrafted him in the National draft. He never stopped training with us either

I think Hyde was dropped because we needed to cull a certain number of players prior to the list lodgement. Apparently we didn't have enough duds to delist after our stellar 2001 season :hihi

Limbach has been delisted an if avaliable will be picked up in the rookie draft,no other surprises at this stage
so long as we don't see a player we want more (twice).

i can now get some uni done - I'll try to avoid this joint until the 25th November (Draft day) :clap

I'd prefer to hang around this joint DDT so could you do my BAS for me while you're boycotting us please?

I don't know about others but I am reasonably happy with the delistings. Thought perhaps Howat deserved a spot on the main list but overall decisions seem fair giving us 6 picks. Would have preferred higher picks but that is a separate debate. Seems there was too many in front of Limbach.

Polak's recruitment and Hughes' surprise pick-up killed Limbach. No matter how much form or promise he showed, he was never gonna get ahead of those two RFC golden boys... >:(

RROFO, where are you? Stop me pressing 'send'!!! ;)

With question marks over when Thursfield will return it is probable that Will will be placed on the long term injury list almost immediately and Howat promoted in any case.

I asked that the other day, others don't think Will will be placed on long term injury. He may not be at best but apperantly will start playing.

Will is raring to go, believe me.
Brian R said at Club 80 last week that it was felt it would take him all of 07 to get back to his peak, but we will see him on the park next year giving it his all.

you DON"T want me doing anything with numbers, unless it's stats

what boycott? Nothing's going to happen until draft day except a few training reports :rofl

Overall I think that Greg and Terry have got it right when it comes to this years list management.

1) Stafford and Chaffey retiring was correct.

2) Kellaway's delisting was a bit of a suprise but with younger players like Moore, Jackson, Jon, and P Bowden able to cover his absence, it will turn out to be the right decision in the long term.

3) Rodan and Roach's delisting was also correct when you consider the players ahead of them.

4) Limbach will always struggle behind Hughes, Pattison, McGuane and schulz. I hope he does get rookied!

5) Howat needs more time to prove his value on the senior list.

However, I was hoping that tivendale and Hall would be goneski!

AMEN to Tivendale and Hall getting it Cracker!!

Nice effort overall Cracker but disagree over the Kellaway reasoning.

There is no way P Bowden, Moore, or JON will provide the strength and commitment to a contest and show the same courage and ticker that Chubba did, Jackson may but the other 3 are not hard at types to replace Kellaway from what ive seen.

Jon could be snapped in half and is best served as a HBF rather than a 3rd tall, Bowden is an outrider which is modernday speak for being ....... well you know, and Moore aint good enough but thats my opinion.

Thursty is our best 3rd tall option ideally which is why Brown or his ilk should be drafted so our backhalf could look something like this in the future. Plenty of size and strength allowing Bowden to be freed up more and Thursty to play the 3rd tall role as a negator which he is best suited. Polak and Brown to provide the height and strength on the big boys and Rainsey and Jon mixed with Newmo, Casserly, Polo ect to run the ball out.

Raines Brown Thursfield

JON Polak J Bowden

Fair point Craig, but I think Moore will suprise many this year. As a regular Coburg watcher I can honestly say that when Moore plays in defense he is rarely to never beaton. I can't recall him ever being taken to the cleaners. If he has a good run with injuries this year he is certain to be in our best 22.

Time will tell!
