Hi all. New poster but have followed this site for years and love it - a great source for finding out what is going on and sharing the highs and lows. Breif intro - 50 something years old and have followed tiges all my life. as a kid we would arrive at Punt Road early so we could get a seat on the fence (the only seats available). I remember the old stand nearly falling down after Ron brantons 150th game. I have 4 kids and have instilled in all of them that they must feel the passion with yellow and black in their blood.
Anyway, here is what I wanted to post; an email I sent to Terry Wallace (or as it is customary on this site, Wallet).

I believe time to fine tune, no major change.
Here is a quote from Punt Road End (not from me but I believe it is apt):
Gerard Healy summed us up in the 3rd by saying we played Dumb football all day. Never once did we take the game on yesterday preferring to flood back from the first bounce and let Calrton reload off halb back all day and wait for the turnover. IMHO that sealed out fate from early on.
It seems to me that the flood emphasis means that after half time, we run out of juice and too frequently we are getting run over later in each game. I suggest that flooding and run and carry are inconsistent with the ability to run out a game. Further, flooding seems to be because we dont have faith in our players to match it with our opponents (ditto run and carry, the latter inevitably ends up in turnovers).
My humble suggestion is:
Less flooding and save energy for 3rd and 4th quarters
More faith in players to respond in one-on-ones (evidence Kelvin Moore against Fev)
More direct - balance the run and carry / take them on, with some longer direct play (see 2. above)
Hope this might help, and I sense that the majority of tiger fans have come to this conclusion. I believe fans will respond positively to taking a chance with more youth - Collins, Connors (with some atitude shaping), Casserly, Rance, Collard and Cartledege (Pattison too slow, turn him into foward from the square maybe). Unfortunately for Pettifer, Hyde, Tiv and Jackson, time to say goodbye.
Cheers and looking forward to posting with you all.
