PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Think about it. Collingwood ran all over us in the 2nd half. Brisbane kicked 5-1 in the last. We conceded too much ground in the last 10 minutes of the 1st quarter.

I don’t have any faith in our fitness staff. Despite a more experienced team we looked thin and unfit compared to Carlton. How many players were blowing up compared to theirs?

The fitness aspect is so underrated. It affects our skills, our ability to chase, tackle, 2nd efforts etc.

Geelong had a shocker in 2007. Thompson blamed the fitness staff, sacked them and the rest is history. Clarkson went to every length to get Andrew Russell from Port Adelaide (much credited with their flag). Look at Hawthorn.

To play our style of game we have to be at least the equal, if not fitter than the opposition. Our staff have been at the place too long. Time for a fresh strategy.
