Foley and Will sign extended contracts

What was the story with King almost going (to the Bombers?)
Did they offer him more money, longer contract or another reason, anyone know?
Apparently offered 1 year deal with us at less money (?) and the bummers offered longer contract as well, so its been said, refer to Jake King thread on this site

With Foley it's a good move. Honestly irock, what have you ever seen in Foley that would make you compare him with Schulz? I think that's an insult to Axel. Now that Willy T is starting to come on we need to make sure that the backline is stable.

i agree with foley he deserves it but would still like to see a bit more from thursty before comitting for a longer period, i still dont really like extending contracts before a season has started unless its for your guns

Just read in the Herald Sun this morning that Foley has signed a 2 year extension and Will has also extended his contract (not sure how long though).

Sorry if this is old news and I don't have a link as I read it the old fashioned way in a hard copy that was delivered to my door.
Can anyone send the link to the article because I cant find it

I think they try and take calculated risks to save money. I know if they have a shocker '08 they've stuffed up but if they both keep improving they'll probably be asking for $50,000 extra next time around which could be what we give the next up and comers to extend next year.
Hopefully they know what the're doing!!

Dont think you will find a link, it was in a section with various little snippets of info on various AFL news items. Nothing more was said other than the fact that foley got a 2 year extension and Will signed on again. (no time frame given).

As Ripple said there's no link because it was actually in the paper rather than on the net. I'll type it out for you to read bert.

Both snippets are from Rosanne Michie's gossip page.

FOLEY AT HOME
The Tigers have secretly re-signed it's star of 2007, Nathan Foley, his manager, Peter Lenton, has revealed. The onballer, whose toughness and speed were a revelation, has signed a two-year extension on top of the contract that had a year to run. Meanwhile Foley, happy with his newfound security, has bought his first home-a nice little house in Collingwood.

TIGERS IN THE HUNT
Some may jest given their wooden spoon, but Tiger stalwarts are talking finals in 2008. They must be doing something right. This week they signed tall backman Will Thursfield, who is returning from a knee injury. The hunted also became the hunter-with the Tigers also snaring top recruiter Craig Cameron.
