Nathan Foley is another Craig Ednie and Sean Gordan, Asta la vista!

Sorry Tigertough - but you did say it..........

Every year certain players get judged, sometimes harshly, sometimes with compassion. Going back to September 2005, a young Nathan Foley had just finished his second year on the Rookie List and the usuasl questions were asked. Nathan had had a 43 possession game at Coburg, countless 30plus games and just 6 AFL games with modest game time.

Below are the basic views on Nathan back then:

BIG FUTURE: Nwonash, Lamb22

KEEP
Anduril, TigersofOld, Phantom, GPB, Loto, Tigerextra, WesternTiger, MsTanti, Shawry, Scoop, SoulmanPete, Harry, Claw, Duro (after Phantom changed his mind)

ANOTHER YEAR MAYBE
Tigerdog, Tubytiger, MB64, Bunnerz85, Tigermad2005, CaptJonno2Madcow, Bairdy380, Tigerblood, Marella jube, Richo12, Bigwow, Craig

UNDECIDED
Pharace, DragacevicFan, Darth Tiger

NO THANKS DELIST
BrettsTigers, Evo, Richmond United, Tigertough12, LeysyDays, Tango, Redford

The common knock on Nathan was his speed - things change, and that's worth remembering..............

PS - feel free to upgrade your opinion now - I know I have ;D

Geez one I got right for a change.

Let's NOT do that for every player hey pharace? ;D

Even Schulz is showing some upside - you MIGHT be on another winner after 5 years ;)

hmm 6yrs and hes not showing that much upside.
i still remember the debates with razorwire on foley.

Good tip by Claw, I know he's pretty negative but to pick Foley as a certain keeper way back then from someone who rarely gives a compliment shows he knows his stuff.

Luckily I have to wait another 2-3 years before appearing in these 'hindsight' threads ;D

I wish we had another 19 year old kid playing for the Burg now who is capable of 40+ possession games in the VFL.

Several posts from this thread have been moved to the Feedback board.

Good to see Redford still batting 1000! ;D

Always chuckled about the knock on his speed . Good work Pharace (money's on the fridge) ;) - can you get the Kel Moore thread up now?

Do we need to get the Hilton, Hyde & Pettifer threads out as well Lambs fry. ;D

ILO the more the merrier. Lambsy has a feeling we will have a similar Tambling thread in a few years too.

Congrats to Nathan for proving he is worthy of a spot on an AFL list.

I've certainly decided that Nathan has displayed the attributes of a consistent B-grade midfielder, just hope that he gets some additional midfield support options to take it to the next level and become an All-Australian A-grader.

I remember watching him at Coburg and seeing that he always seemed to have time when he had the ball, maybe that's why people thought he was slow. I know his kicks were a bit in and under, but the fact that he got stacks of it and always looked like he was never rushed made me pretty confident that he'd transition well to AFL.
Kinda why I have high hopes for Andy Collins too, he has the same sort of look to him when he has the ball, looks like he has lots of time to get rid of it, even when it's congested and needs quick disposal
