Ok, this one really is out of left field.
A couple of people came up to me at work yesterday and knowing that I'm a Richmond supporter they told me there was a sign up at or near Richmond station saying something along the lines of "Richmond Football Club – Footballers Wanted". Neither of them knows much about AFL football (actually they know nothing), so I told them they must be mistaken and that this was not how AFL clubs went about finding young talent (although it would go a long way towards explaining some of our recruiting decisions over the past couple of decades).
They assured me that even though they did find it a bit strange the sign really was there, so I was left with three options. Either the sign did exist and they read it incorrectly (in which case they need to go to OPSM and/or learn how to read), the sign didn’t exist and they were lying (probably the most likely explanation, in which case I’ll *smile* slap both of them), or the sign did exist and that really is what it said (in which case it was obviously someone taking the *smile*). Can anyone shed any light on this?
