We've had a team with no footy smarts for years. Maybe we should throw out every criteria except ability to pick an option quickly and use the ball.

Might get something like this

Meyer Thursty Bowden
Polo Moore Macmahon
Pettifer King Howat
Tambling Riewoldt Newman
Edwards Lids Brown
Simmonds Cogs Foley

Int Polak Morton Connors Cotchin

Em Rance Collins Collard, Casserly

Knackery: Johnson, Tuck, Tivendale, JON

It is the line up which I think makes better choices and uses the ball better. BTW cant make a silk purse out of a Sow's ear. A lot of those players have other weaknesses but IMO not many alternatives exist that use the ball better than those picked .

i wouldnt have macmahon in the team then, i dont think he has a great footy brain tbh

Runs hard ,often and far and delivers quickly.long and accurately enough. How many other players do we have that run fast and in a straight line out of defence (excluding Raines who likes to run into opposition players)

That was what I heard about McMahon, too. Must have left his vaunted skills back at the Dogs, because he was woeful on Friday night.

I was at the game and he wasn't overly flash but got better as the game went on. What I noticed is that he would run at full pelt and expect to draw an opponent and have a running handball target but our blokes stood still or jogged or ball watched. Mcmahon would then have to check, slow and go sideways or back.. You could see he was confused. Probably thinking SSHHeeez what did I get myself into here?
