For sale: 1 Tiger Skin, as New

I might not wave mine.

But I treasure mine all the same.

Its a RFC item and for that it takes great place with my RFC colllection.

I will gladly accept my 2008 version if it comes in the pack next year.
 
I like it, but its still going in the bonfire at Punt Road to get ride of the KB/Lounder voodoo curse on it
 
The skins are bringing $7.95 at the Post Office.

yes, except unlike our sisters who fought for equality and liberation, we are fighting to get the curse of KB/Lounder off our backs, and we will have VB's and a sausage sizzle at the ground :hihi

Nah, not at all.

There amongst the AFL clocks and model cars, etc, was Tiger Skins @ $7.95.

I was amazed that RFC had laid out that amount of money to keep me happy.

Actually asked the post mistress how much would she give me for as mint condition one but she declined the offer.

Wonder if they're on eBay?

It wasn't that bad an idea!! it would awesome to have a see of yellow during the game when we kick goals etc. Problem is, too many people are too image conscious !!

If everyone got on board it would be good, but it needs everyone to do it, otherwise it just doesn't work!!

I'll be waving mine proudly when we finally notch up that first win, and will continue to do so as long as they exist

The Curse that is spoken about has come from the lack of support for the Skin!! so all you no skin believers are to blame :P

HEY! My skin has come, my skin has seen, and my skin has sat on its yellow a%$e because we are yet to rack up a win.

Its a curse I'm telling you......and if we dont get rid of it we will all end up with heads like Dermie, bodies like BT, the vocab of Dougie, and the cliques of Spud

i agree, i`ll never take mine to a game and wave it but i won`t throw it out either.
i think it was a stupid idea and hopefully the club won`t make the same mistake next year.
why would we want to wave a tea towel around?
if they want us to wave something , give everyone one of those yellow flags, an extra few thousand of those at the game would look awesome.
 
Now for that original Tiger skin, I believe the club should dig a hole in the middle of Punt Road Oval.

Place the Tiger in it frm the mesuem.

Have a few religious leaders & include Aboriginal Priest (not sure what they are called sorry)like the Pies with the bone and then burn it to a crisp & cover again with the dirt.

Lets lift the curse !

Couldn't find rosy's original post. The following is from p.302 of Tigerland, by Brian Hansen:

"In August 1951 as Richmond was savaging the Demons, the natives of Kemasak in Malaysia were celebrating a great tiger defeat.

A single shot from a high powered rifle in the hands of Colonel A.Locke ended the life of a magnificent but lethal man-eating tiger which had killed and eaten 12 young men and was believed to have consumed many, many more. This tiger had become a legend in the book The Tigers of Trengganu.

Col. Locke, a renowned tiger hunter, was to become a great friend of president Ray Dunn and he presented the tiger skin, head and the great snarling, ravenous mouth agape, to the Tiger club.

The tragic tiger now reclines on the great table in the Richmond F.C. Board Room. A symbol to all Tigers but in many ways an epitaph to the many tragic Richmond Tigers who have come to an untimely end."

The tiger skin wasn't in the board room on May 31st.
Greg Miller is aware that some of us blame it for our current troubles, he made mention of it in passing. But I can't remember if he said where it was.

That much-maligned tiger skin has seen us win a night premiership and 5 day ones.

Find something else to blame our bad form on.
