before wallace walks or is pushed the club must have two things in place or the people in place to implment these things that they are totally sure of.

those two things are recruitment and list management and by extension development so i suppose thats three.

until these things are in place we are wasting our time looking for a new coach.

why bring a new bloke in just for us to stuff up in these areas he could be jesus h christ reincarnated and without these things he might as well go and try and save some collingwood souls. as much hope there as he would with us getting it right.

if the review at half says these things are right then is the time to push him out if they arent we need to identify what needs to be done and go thru that process as well. and let wallace go to yrs end.

I've just posted the same priorities (hadn't got to this thread yet)
Its got to be where funding is prioritised.
Clubs live and die by performance.
Funds to identify the best talent available to us.. no speculative picks
Funds to further develop our players. Its not just their skills, but learning the game.

I wonder what happened to T@FE (tigers at football education). Did it fold? Did any of our players pass?Did we have any instructors or was just self-paced?
Didn't seem to work.

There is a rumour circulating on the rumours page that RFC are looking to get TPP down and redirect those funds to development and the footy department in general. Some of our most highly paid players are in the 30+ category so this would make sense and i oh so hope this is true.

No argument from me Claw.
We've supposedly been building our recruiting and development department for the last couple of years, but it's a long slow process.
Our footy review has been going on since mid last year, it's even slower than our building of the footy department.
Lets hope those in charge get things right in both areas and soon.

On the 5th quarter last night they were having a chat about the tiges and that Gary March at the presidents lunch yesterday said " we are now looking for a new coach".

Does that now mean that Terry is safe for the season or is he safe until the process has ben followed and we have a replacement?

List management is moving in the right direction. The gist of the infamous '2011' presentation was more or less accurate, but obviously Wallace isn't the man to take us the next step.

Good post claw. Cameron and Jackson need to eb given the arse. Mediocre performers at best. However, the coach is also an intrinsic part of a successful development culture. This must be a critical strength that our next coach carries.

Do you honestly think Jackson is a bad performer Riddles?

Sure he's had some hits and misses, but I would put the blame at the mediocre development of our players. I either read or heard that one player just got a development coach in his third year. That's shithouse.

We've got McCrae and Rawlings.

I'd get rid of Rawlings, and go get 3 other good development coaches to help out our young players. One who can focus on forward development, one who can focus on developing our backman, and another who can develop our mids. possibly one to help our young rucks, or that could be done by the main ruck coach, given there's so few of them.

Well said, IMHO thats exactly right.

Yes I do. He is a product of the Greg Miller school of drafting shithouse footballers with high draft picks. He is a dud. I know there is conjecture on his role at the 2005 draft but redford got it straight from the horse's mouth that JON was Jackson's pick. That is inexcusable. For me there is no redemption for using a top 10 pick on such an obviously flawed footballer.

The sooner he and Cameron are removed from the Football Dept the better off we'll be.

I know he took Jon. But he also took riewoldt (who played crap yesterday), connors and collins.

I'll second your motion that we've screwed up the 2005 draft monumentally. I think his 2006 (although 1 season to early to tell I think) was OK.

I'll back you up on Cameron. The fact that he's brining over all his buddies from Melbourne scares the crap out of me. Vastly overrated football manager.

We will go through the motions and follow the 'plan, the mid-season review will decide whether to sign up Wallace, the answer will no doubt be 'no', then March will activate his 'contingency plan' and appoint the caretaker, meanwhile in th b ackground the media & PRE go feral trying to find who the next coach will be.

March must adhere to the due diligence or else he could find himself out on Punt Road.

People keep saying that connors was such a great pick.
Every other club over looked him. Why?
Answer he thinks that he is bigger than the game itself.
He is not going to make it because of this, the love for him is just way over the top.

Based on what I've heard he turned a corner this pre-season attitude wise which is why I want to see him get a good go without injury before we make a decision. Remember we missed out on Mitch Clarke because of his poor attitude in the 2005 draft.

God I hope you're right....2011? i'd take that....id be thinking post 2014 is where we are challenging. Lids will be 28 by then, his best years slipping away.
