10 secs penalty for Oscar's brake checks on Verstappen under safety car.

Harsh. But expected. British GP, this will give Norris the lead. If it wasn't for the safety cars Oscar was on target to lap the field by the end of the race.

Typical Silverstone. As a couple of commentators said yesterday, it's a frustrating place to drive. Always rains off and on, and the track struggles to clear the water. *smile* British weather in Summer, all the time.

Big mistake by Piastri. Way over the acceptable psi when braking behind the safety car.

Anyway, suck *smile* Verstappen.

Oscar didn't need to do it.
Hope it doesn't cost him at the end of the year

Agree. He'll learn. But 10secs was too much. 10secs is what Verstappen got for deliberately driving into Russell during the Spanish GP. 5 Secs and there would have been a race on.

I can't see McLaren fighting too hard for Oscar when the penalty was being debated. it was still a McLaren 1-2 but with local boy Norris winning his home GP. win win win for McLaren

Yep, as we all know, Tiger got shafted.

They don't like that level of braking - regardless of him doing it earlier. 59.2 psi ....which is too much.

Russell was under review in Canada but escaped penalty because his psi was 30. Oscar's was twice that, so he was always gonna come under scrutiny, especially from a speed of 200 plus.

He knows the car behind him is gonna follow him so to jump on the chains that hard, nah. He was soliciting trouble.

Hah hah hah.

Well, just to add to that hate, I'd have to check this but I think he might have also dobbed himself in.

He said he jumped on the brakes when the safety car lights went out but I think you've gotta be within 10 car lengths when they do. He'd left a gap of half the Hangar Straight.

Would need to check that though.

Mad Max was the only one to have a problem, the others behind him pulled up ok.

Either he had a problem, or he deliberately made one for Oscar by overshooting him.

Dunno. Hopefully Oscar gets his head right. I did laugh at his plea to the team for team orders to let him back in front of Norris because the penalty was, in their opinion, wrong. I mean, worth a shot, but was never going to happen.

"I don't think the penalty before was very fair," adding, "I know it's a big question, but if you don't think it was fair either, I think we should swap back and race."

Yep, I wouldn't put it past Mad Max to do that.

Being teammates who are both in Championship contention, letting him back in front was never going to happen. If they did do it would've given good grounds to appeal the penalty, but again for the same reason it was never going to happen.
