With Richo getting older and more injury prone it would be good to see jay make ff his own. In one forward pocket would be good to see cleve or jack play all year. Depending on form and fitness, they could be given 6-7 games in a row to find their feet, then maybe a stint in the 2's. Krack or browny in the other pocket.

ff
Jack/cleve shultz browny/krack

petts patto/richo browny/meyer/ jack

With all the doomsdayers about that forward line looks pretty good to me.We just need Jay to develop over the next few weeks then take that form into the season. Having jack/cleve deep in attack developing for the future. Browny and krack changing on the ball. people are worried about kingsly being injured, that forward set up looks fine without him.

That looks a good forward line.
And the bonus is with Schultzy being so versatile, and with Gas really struggling at FB on the big FFs, we can swap Gas and the Sarge at FB and FF. ;)

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Terry thought Browny could make a smaller FF this year. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Gas struggled last week in a glorified practice game where he couldn't get a handle on the new rules and got down in the dumps with himself. The season proper will be a different story and all those wanting him out of the team might get a surprise just how valuable he is to us. By far our best option for FB at this stage.

I'd prefer Tambo on a hff than in the midfield until he matures and learns the game a bit better.

Browny played that role at FF with the bullies and kicked 50+ on two occassions and id have to agree on tambo being more of a HF or FP and have him in spurts on the ball until he matures.

Id still like to see Raines on the ball and have young white play the small running defender.

If that is true then we are up that creek without a paddle. I am all for "flowersniffing" at this point but that is going to far.

You quoted 3 separate comments scoop. Which one are you referring to and what is going too far? BTW did you get my pm?

Fixed up now, bit clearer.

I just think that we are better off getting 16 into McGuane then trying to nudge 16 games out of Gas whoose body has let him down and the game has passed him on.

And no PM from you Rosy.

Looks a bit crowded to me, no room for Krak to use his pace.

Krak hardly uses his pace much around goal
He uses agility and timing way more

The reality is that our forward set up is more likely to use 4 players around and inside 50, the other 2 would most likely push up the ground. Based on our list and stages of development of certain players this is how I believe we should line up

Richo

Pettifer Schulz Brown

Richo at CHF, Schulz at FF, Brown in the pocket with Pettifer, the other 2 flankers should be Tambling and Danny Meyer, and they would push up the ground to help out the midfield, it is worth noting that with that setup, Richo would push up but also Pettifer has good hands, which means a very open forward line. At stages I would rotate Brown with Deledio as Deledio has a good pair of hands and would hard to match up on up forward. You may also have Simmonds drifting forward at stages to provide an extra target

Beautifully put Mr Milburn.

Oh FFS, everyone's giving the same old players but in different positions, it's like shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic. All of us that follow footy, especially our team of the glory years, know that without a CHF you're rat *smile*.

There isn't anyone currently on the list who is capable of playing a brain crunching game in that position, UNTIL that day comes we WILL NOT have a COMPLETE forward setup, so put the crayons back in the your pencil case.

Snnniiifff!!

Interesting that Wallace muted in the paper today that the new rule would force him to consider shuffling Richardson back to FF. Personally I think that was just a tactic to take the heat of his concerns re Gaspar.

In saying that with Richo's hammies I'd line us up like..

Pettiffer Deledio

Pattison

Brown Richardson

Schulz can rotate of the bench with Richo. P Bowden can go forward also.

Kingsley's miles away & Krak & Meyer can fight it out for a spot at Coburg..

Brown(Better playing deep to good for any small backman) Richo/Simmonds(With push in the back & chopping of the arms rule won't be beaten 1 on 1) Kingsley(good pace lead up forward)

Bowden P (Tall agile hard match up) Pattison/Riewoldt(Same as Bowden but need to develop a CHF) Pettifer(Works hard good grab & target around HF uses ball well)

Our big weakness I see is forward pressure hard working forwards when we don't have the ball think maybe thats where Krakouer(Tackling) & Tambling(Pace) might come in handy?

At the G you really need a CHF and Richo is the best....With Kingsley out id put P.Bowden as a lead up forward....i reckon he is a real talent personally. Have richo 35-40m out with Andy K or Danny M at his toes...and have Browny one out as he will not get beaten and perhaps Sarge to lead out of the square. If Sarge is required in the backline for a while (God forbid Oldie) then Jack, Cleve or the resting ruckman - simmo or patto - could sit in the square.

Pettifer                            P Bowden
                  Richo
Krakouer

              Schulz/Brown

The setup in canberra wil be very interesting. No havng to automatically kick it to Richo or browny so will be of interest who puts their hand up.Nearly the whole forward line are playing for a position in the team.
ff
Krack shultz jacko
harts reiwoldt McGuane

Shultz would be the only certainty to play round 1 if fit.So all the other boys the balls firmly in their court.
