Having been deprived of actually going 2 the game most of this year through work, i luckily got 2 watch us yesterday against the saints... yer lucky me!
But a few things i noticed....
Richo is and ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR! The motor and effort from this man is awesome. Runs all day presenting, giving us an option even if his up against it will still run hard just to make a contest and bring the ball to ground. He demands the footy and rightly so! he runs hard to get into position and he wants his efforts rewarded. Alot of our players should demand the footy like richo... wouldnt see us so flat footed and one dimensional all the time!

Tambling is very quick on the lead has a good leap but either is backing himself in to use his body to win the hard ball or is intimidated (definetly not scared coz he does the hard stuff). Which is a confidence thing i hope and with another pre season in the gym will hopefully cure. But if he can muscle up and hit a pack hard could really dominate up forward. Goal kicking was poor... hopefully just a bad day!

Schulz leads in short bursts... I found alot of times when the ball carrier was coming down he didnt commit to a lead enough to give the ball carrier enough of an indication of where he wanted it delivered. Small leads can work pefectly depending on the opponent... yesterday it wasnt very effective. Just needs to be aware that sometimes the ball carrier cant run and carry all day and he needs to get on his bike to provide a target even if his not gonna leave his opponent for dead.

Petifer was barely seen up forward all game... dunno wat happened but he was presenting very well across the forward flanks earlier this year

Patrick Bowden is very similar to Jason Cloke... plays well when there is no opponent but seems to struggle when he gets some mild attention.
Delivery to the forwards has improved but still has a long way to go.

But as far as people saying richo should move out to leave schulz the forward 50... keep dreaming! schulz has gotta want the ball alot more! Richo wont give up his territory very easily so his gonna start demanding the space!

As far as Cleve and others coming in... well lets hope when richos gone we have options up forward!

Agree on richo, doesn't stop trying and works hard all day no matter what the scoreboard says!! But really needs some better delivery!

Shultz has talent, but just doesn't work hard enough to demand the ball, which i think if he doesn't impove his work ethic, then its time for him to move on!!

I actually like pettifer, but does have a habit of going missing for large portions of the game, but has impoved plenty this year and if he keeps impoving could become a handy player for us.

Tambling is coming on and i think he just needs time for his body to mature for him to really show his talent

Finally i hink Patrick is a part timer in the forward line and is only a plan B for us

Richo played well yesterday & Schulz showed some good signs but the rest of the forwardline was a shambles.Pettifer's form has dropped off & he should be traded,Krak is not up to it,Brown when fit will be a force up forward,Tambling could turn out to be a reasonable midfielder & forward but still very young. At this stage Terry's 16 goal a match plan is a dream with the current forward structure.

Easier said than done.
Richo's never worked well in tandem with another forward throughout his entire career.
He's a very dominant figure in the forward line and he tramples all over it. He only knows one way to play.

I'll tell you this much, yes it's great that Richo got 4 goals yesterday. Woobloodyhooo!
But we got murdered in case you hadn't noticed and kicked 10 goals for the game.
The forward line is a basket case with Richo as the only target.

The sooner this club restructures it's forward line and properly develops a key forward to replace our aging spearhead the better. Whether that's Schulz, Hughes or someone else it MUST happen.
Madcow's not going to be around forever even though some here seem to think he will be.
He's been a great player but at some point this club has to bite the bullet.

Agree 100 percent - basing our foward line around him over the last decade plain and simply hasn't work - and will it never not work. Whilst his endeavour has never been questioned, he has never bought in other players into the game like the great CHFs, and his finishing skills are as erratic now as they were when he first arrived. Worse still during the time he has left, because of the way he plays, his presence will slow track the development of Schulz, Hughes or whatever KPP we'll pick up in this years draft. Again hate to say it, but the sooner we enter into the post-Richardson era, the sooner we can start developing a forward line that will take us to a flag.

Anyone got any idea why pettifer has been playing in the backline and around half back instead of the forward line like where he was dominating earlier this year??

Only to plug up the holes left with most of our back line out.. he'll go back forward when we get some defenders back.

Richo has the passion for the jumper! thats wat put him a cut above the rest!
Plus schulz seems 2 lack intensity when the ball is up the ground! once its kick his way he is great. Richo does work well with other class players! delidio often hits richo lace out. Brown often creates play well with richo aswell. Also richo brings the ball 2 ground where others simple cannot! Its just a lack of class around richo that makes his deficiency look alot worse than wat they are!
But is richo holding us back??? well i think not! His teaching boys abt the pride in the jumper! yesterday when we were gettin done richo still ran hard and did all the little things! and lets not kid ourselves, the real leader of the playing group is big richo!
But the youth at all cost thinking by some people is just plain stupid! If a guy cant get a goals at coburg then he aint gonna be getting them in AFL! Maybe thats why we have copped 100pt beltings! we are just handing out the richmond jumper with out people having earned the right to wear the mighty yellow and black!
Look at players that have done the hard yards such as raines and polo! They have played good footy and not been selected which hurts but now they r given a chance they dont wanna give it up!

No one's disputing Richo's passion for the jumper.
