Forwards who can kick straight

Still hasn't reached his prime age or development and been severly hampered by a couple of crunch injuries.
Just hoping he gets a clean run this year, and shows us what he is capable of.

IMO I still believe that we need to concentrate on improving our midfield and relieve pressure off our backline and supply our forwards with more opportunities to kick goals.

Maybe the reason they can’t kick straight is because when they finally get the ball there stuffed from running into the middle to get it :o

Ok let me clear up some things with my previous post

What i meant about the midfield is when the ball is delivered into out foreward line they should KNOW to pick the right option instead of kicking it to the big man always.

IMO
Richo should play out of the goal square instead of running 1/2 way up the ground to receive the ball.
Shultz should play a CHF role.
The midfield shouldnt just use the kick and hope delivery into the foreward line.

But hey thats just my opinion ;D

Could he still play on the wing?

Spudly the dudly played him on the wing a few years ago on Reiwoldt and then proceeded to leave him there whilst Reiwoldt carved us up. I think the big fella would not be defencive enough against quality wingers same would be the case, Played for too long were his oponent had to chase him.

Our undoubted greatest player of recent years presents us with quite a conundrum.....If not the wing, somewhere he can create havoc without getting in the way. Forward flank? Definitely nowhere near the defensive half, as I agree that he doesnt have a defensive bone in his body. He does take too many marks on the flanks for a full forward anyway. PS. Richo tends not to take big marks in the goalsquare a la Alistair Lynch. Terry's plan to work him out of the goalsquare in his twilight years is a real worry :-\

You trying to get Schulzy killed or something?
Put Schulz at half forward and Richo will be trying to stand on his head every time the ball comes forward.
Better to put Richo and Schulz as high forward pockets with Browny deep in the goal square. Let the two big guys control one half of the forward arc each so they split the defenders and dont trip over one another, this also leaves (if fully fit ) the best one on one forward in Nathan G on his own around the teeth of goal.
It also allows you to operate a fairly open five man forward line with your flankers to act as front and centre crummers for either Richo or Schulzy, both guys are strong marks and should have few problems grabbing plenty if they go one out instead of bunching up on one another. And definately no third big lug in there clogging things up creating packs.
