Comparing Deledio to Angwin ?

Strewth, bring on the footy please !!

read the post properly atleast. I wasn't comaring deledio to angwin but rather the fact that both were/are touted to have great talent, but unless they show it during matchday, than it's useless. Perhaps Angwin was a bad example.

No *smile* it was a bad example.
Go and have a look at our Rising star winners stats last season.
Lids is traveling fine.

I'm curious, FUD...what makes you think that the players in the first/second rounds of this years draft are gonna be any better than the ones we already have on our list from 3-4 previous drafts? If they've all failed in your view, how can you say that the next batch of kids will be any different?

I think this quote sums it up...

useless dribble as usual from some.

Too right. Get a clue FUD.

Regarding the likes of Hodge, Mclean, Sylvia, Ray etc, you will find that these players already had great disposal and smarts, but simply lacked the body and experience to produce their best. Our players on the other hand are lacks smarts and disposal skills to begin with and from what i have seen, won't be getting any better too soon.

So you're saying that despite the slow starts early in their careers that you were certain they all had what it takes to be where they are now (or in some cases are just getting to) yet strangely enough NONE of the guys we've drafted do? What a load of crap. None of these guys came close to being as good as Deledio was in his first two years, both in actual performance (you do remember him winning the Rising Star right?) and statistically, yet you're calling for him to be traded. So you want us to believe that you saw potential in all those guys I listed (how much did you even watch of them) but you can't see it in Deledio? Please.

In regards to listing the next batch of picks how is that possible without a ball being kicked in the TAC cup ya moron.

You can't tell that the question was rhetorical and I'M a moron? Seriously, no draft has even 5 players that will play 22 games in their first year, let alone perform at a high level. For every Deledio and Murphy there's 50 guys that do nothing until their early 20's.

And if you know nothing about this year's batch of kids, WTF are you advocating trading half our list for picks for? What if this is a really poor draft, we'll be screwed for 10 years?

All im saying is the time has come for supporters to stop OVER rating our youngsters and proclaiming them superstars, where in reality they are simply not good enough.

Reality is you're too impatient to let these kids mature and that right now, it's way too early to be judging them and doing so only perpetuates the reality that (some) Tiger fans like to eat their own. So what if you were calling for Spud to get the sack? So were thousands of others. The ones calling for him to be retained were mostly doing so because they wanted the Club to show it could honor a contract, not because they thought Frawley was a good coach.

So you're demanding we trade away our best young talent for picks in a draft where you have no idea whether there are any players worth a damn. And you're calling others morons and deluded?

Surely the more picks we get in the first 2 rounds, and with a decent recruiter, we can find kids in the next draft to get things right.

This is the whole basis of you arguement, trade away players for draft picks, you must have some idea... oh thats right you have NO IDEA. :rofl

What a muppet.

Can't agree FUD, the problem is that they're kids, plain and simple. The kids we've drafted in the last 3-4 years are now 20-21. Not good enough? Not experienced enough, maybe. Not ready to shoulder all of the work necessary to make our club a force in the league? Certainly. No doubt, obviously. But not good enough? I don't buy into that argument at all.

How many times do we hear it said that footy's a man's game? Yet here you are seemingly expecting the kids to be the difference. Unfairly in my opinion.

It's natural for us to rate our own above those from other clubs. That's one of the beauties of being a supporter. When you're a supporter you can see a kid make a mistake and think "Don't worry, kid. There's always next week. You can do better than that." When you're a supporter you see two kids with the same ability and you KNOW that one's better than the other kid because "he's ours". I don't think anybody on this forum honestly expects for our kids to be the difference between playing deep into the finals or challenging Carlton for the spoon. The thing about being a supporter is that in a situation like ours you can see hope that things are changing for the better. Hope is what makes us aspire to be the best we can be. If you have no hope, that's fine, makes no difference to me. I, however, have hope. I know things aren't perfect, far from it. But I'm sure things are getting better, and eventually we'll see the rewards of all the pain we've endured. It may not be this year, but it will come. Just hope you haven't given up by then.

One of ur best Disco, u came back hard and absolutely demoralized poor FUD, dud seriously in all honesty i read ur latest post with an open mind but when u started to mention names like Ray and Sylvia, i mean are u saying Sylvia or Ray are better than lids, id even have polo ahead of them both....Brock McLean yeah a gun and Hodge please his first year and 2nd year people had huge question marks on him now obviously a star player, same as walker from the blues but for him he only really took the next step last year after about 4 years.
Tambling how on earth can u make that assessment on a kid of only 2 years of playing and not only that uve seen the future and predicted he wont make it in 5 years....
I remember Cooney wow did he have big ? marks on him early on and in his 2nd year again have a look at him now, he’s flying.

And ill throw this in for good measure, to mention angwin in the same breath of Lids is just plain dumb, so ur saying that the NAB rising star was won on false pretences...i must explain...you said...Deledio is highly talented, but so was Angwin. Point being it's great to have talent and potential, but useless if you don't use it match day....Well DUD he must of used something on match day cause he won the rising star award over some pretty handy players.....Oh yeah he was 18 too at the time but im sure u have an abundance of players who could easily fill his shoes and most others on our list.

FUD u open ur self up to ridicule, by saying to disco how is it possible to pick the next batch of kids when the season hasn’t started, well if ur putting up names for trade im sure u have some idea of the 16 and 17 yrs old from last year which were to young to enter the draft but in ur mind are stars in the making, id luv to know ur thoughts...instead of lids who do u feel could match him for speed and strength....blingers what player do u feel can come in and pretty much overtake him in the side or within 12 months because once 2 years comes along u will want to get rid of them if they haven’t met ur standards....same goes with polo, patto, cogs, *smile* etc etc....i mean get on the phone to GM and Jackson because u must know something that no one else knows a swag of gun players ready to take the AFL by storm, im excited please give us at least 10 names..
