Greetings again all, I have been monitoring with interest all the comments coming from both sides +/- and can see merits in both sides of arguments. Seeing as our team may well be dictated by both injury and tribunal this week, would this be a week of minimal game plan just let all the guys/kids who-ever loose and see what happens. A match of complete unpredictability would be hard to counter as an opposition coach and gives our brains-trust and supports something to really look at and think about. ALL these guys didn't get to AFL without some skill and flair at some level.....let them all loose with minimal ramifications and see what we've got. Anyhoo thats my 5 mins of coaching genius for the year..... :-\

Laissez faire coaching... Interesting.

If nothing else, it has to be a better spectacle than the chip sideways and backwards game we are playing at the moment.

bairdy380, I suggested the same thing in my Richmond backline thread.

Play the young guys and give them the 16 goals per game target.

So Terry should take the week off this week and watch the game on tv?

If our senior group can't land 16 goals a week, what hope do the cubs have? Zero. We landed 7 goals against stkilda. Only 9 to go!!!!

We have been playing a negative style of game, especially since we just beat Adelaide. The best form of defence is offence, playing a negative style of game week in week out will have more of an adverse affect on theyoung players than attacking. Ref: See the Frawley years!

Wheadon has stated that he loves tempo football, slowing the game down, controlling possesion etc etc.

Expect more of the same.

If I am to be perfectly blunt, then I believe Terry has also believed some of the hype about his tactical thinking.  Granted the players haven't been there, but there we have reverted to a save/lock down style far too quickly and far too readily.  We have recruited outside runners....let's see what they have and use them.  I am no coaching scholar, but if someone is running quickly with the ball then logic says they can run just as quickly to tackle/smother/harrass.  Perhaps the Adelaide win was to the worst thing that has happened to RFC this year... it definantly has changed the attacking mindset we were in earlier.

Poor bloke, if he did that he would become as bitter and twisted as us. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy at the moment.

Ahh hold on- if he did that he may see some things we do....... :hihi

Most of us are not bitter and certainly not twisted. All we want, as plough has said from the start, is to see a competitive team run out onto the park each week and the graph heading in the right direction. We've failed miserably on the first point on many occasions this year again and the graph is probably a flat horizontal one at the moment. We are still behind last year and shouldnt be.

no worries, I just really saw the funny side of TW getting our perspective watching as a third person. I agree we are behind in Team orientated goals ( not so much individual development) Our culture and deadwood are killing us.

Back to TW I really wonder what he would think watching with us, no coaching in his mind.

Sounds like what Collingwood were doing last year. It worked for them so it might just work for us.

And the result was the Saints helping themselves to 27 goals, just one fewer than the Swans registered in similar circumstances in round seven, with Wallace saying it was not acceptable for the players to roll over so tamely in such a situation.

"I thought the result was heading in that direction after just 10 or 12 minutes today," a disappointed Wallace said after the game.

If he is our coach then he has to be able to turn it around, Yes?

You could also tell in the Swans game this was going to be the case... Are we a bunch of head cases?

Also, whoever picks the photos for these articles, I think they got this one right.... shocking as it is.
