Would disagree with the long kicking bit. We still played a possession game. But it was purposeful, and our use of the ball was generally very good. Our switching of flanks was impressive. The thing that struck me, and unless you were at the game you probably wouldn't have seen this, was the way so many of our players actually ran to create the loose man. It took a lot of pressure of the ball carriers, and it showed with the amount of possession we had.

But everyone needs to keep this in perspective. We played a pathetic opponent today who badly lack pace around the ground.
this is exactly what killed us the past 2 games, and i had a perfect view of it from level 2 at the g.

"one of the reasons why collingwood and north look better by foot is because their players run hard to create space and give the ball carrier a lot more margin for error because he is kicking to a player who is 20,30,50 metres on his own.
when our players get the ball no one is running hard to at least give the player an option, that`s why our players always have to stop, prop, handball and get caught with the ball so often, because they have no one to kick to.
and when they do kick to a teammate that teammate has an opposition player right on his tail."

good to see we rectified it,and all it takes is willpower from the players to do it.

Can today be any sweeter?

A lot of people say how bad Freo were and yes they were shocking, but maybe they only played as well as Richmond allowed them to.

Just finished watching the game last night.

Couple of observations:

Are Freo sponsored by EXXXPO? It doesn't look like an anchor to me.

Is Chris Mayne a clone of Shaun McManus? If they cloned someone, wouldn't it have been better to clone The Pav of Peter Bell?

That game convinced me of the reason why Mark Harvey is not at Essendon.
