I thought Dea was ok, forced a few turn overs that got us back into the game. He certainly is in the mix for round 1. as is Ellis and Morris.

Remember it was 37 degrees at ground level..

With Fox covering so much footy and 7 as well...throw in the radio stations and the first thing you notice is that there simp0ly is not enough talent (read has beens) around to make a decent commentary team.

Commentators who can't even get players names right have as much credibility as "That is absolutley untrue" Gillard!

Not sure about that CC. Just watched the two last quarters again and reckon the kids did pretty well against a well drilled team. What I will say is that too often we were out of position allowing Freo players to be on their own. All in all until the last 5 minutes we were still in, being only 6 points down. Gee, Maric big and Maric little are great pick ups for us, and Ellis is as good as it gets. A bright future methinks.

Fox Footy and SEN are brothers in arms.

That show after the Freo v Rich game was deplorable with Spud trying to act funny, Dunstall speaks like a mother, Lynch speaks like an amateur.....

Low standard.

That show is on a few times a week and it is unwatchable.

The cringeworthy attempts at humour from Frawley make me turn off.

If they just talked Footy it would be ok but it is quite bizarre what they are trying to do.

What I got out of it was that our side with some senior players out was competitive with their side with some senior players out. Except when we had mostly juniors on the park - then it got away from us. Not really much of an indicator for the coming season.

Yep, said earlier it was a fairly dull and uninspiring game ( although not the worst game I've seen).

What's with all these cricketers on football shows lately? We've had Warne & Ponting on The Footy Show panel and now the godawful Michael Slater is the new co-host of the NRL version. That idiot's barely competent to talk about cricket, let alone any other sport.

Agree especially re Slater on the NRL Footy Show what the hell were they thinking ............................. show had no cohesion stop start spluttered through i used to love this show bu turned it off the other night.

Heres an ideas channel 9 for your NRL show.

Bring back Sterling who is a sensational analyst and tacticical guru and Harragon who was the peoples fave with the Fatman ............ that dynamic worked well.

Get rid of the current players who add nothing, and also Brohmann.

Bring back the Falcon Fennech.

Go back to what worked before and talk about footy.

If it wasn't a fluke then geez....got some good kicking skills.

Yeah, that was pretty funny because when Webberley actually turned it over a short while late, Shaw decided that he had seen enough and called for the end of his career. Two bad skill errors from a player that he had probably never noticed before (one incorrectly attributed) was enough for him.

The other Shaw-ism which amused me was earlier in the game when he decided that the reason why Brad Miller was playing well was that he had lost some weight. He then concluded that all players who leave one club, get a second chance at another club and do well improve because they have lost weight.

There certainly are a few nuffies commentating on Foxtel these days.

I had a chuckle at the Miller comment too, bizarre statement. I don't mind Hudson though, you can tell he at least does some research into the lesser known players.

Tony Shaw also commented at one stage that as little Maric was one of our senior players, it was only to be expected that he should show superior kicking skills.

can understand the knocks on players like connors edwards webberly mcguane post etc etc but lay of the new guys ffs morris has only played he's second game at a afl standard and he's already got knockers at lest give the new ones a year in afl system before judging and i know there will be reply's so ill reply to them You do fkn better than the new guys

i was very impressed with the game in the heat they played we have some very young promising talent finaly thr tigers arnt just looking at the now but the future and if everything clicks i can see us winning 3 GF's in the next 7 years
