Future backline

And comparing rucks to 2 unused midfielders in regard to structure is very silly.

Why? Were Judd and Kerr unimportant in how eagles structured up?

I still think matt White will be a great back line player for us

pace and aggro to burn and can kick long goals

You said it DDT. I wish that he was given more of a chance. He needs the sort of crack at it that Coggers got from Frawley. Told not to worry about being dropped for 5-6 games, just to concentrate on playing footy.

FFS lambsy Judd and Kerr are not Cotchin and Collins fair dinkum trying to explain things on this site at times is as pointless as buying an encyclopaedia subscription for an illiterate.

I like our backline, and IMO is our strength. A good team has a good defence, and i commend Terry on that.

King, White to stop the little ****heads that have crucified us over the years ala Farmer and Milne.

We have an array of HBFs, maybe too much, in Bowden, Casserly, McMahon, Newman and the likes.

And our KPD's in Thursfield, Rance, Schulz, Polak and McGuane should hold in good stead for the future.

Its young, and it will still take many beatings over the next couple of years, but it looks good.

CC, I have to say, if we can find some stabilty in the backhalf (i.e find a solid kid that can hold down another KP - eg. Rance, then we could be well on our way. Will's off to a good start - Made a solid return to AFL last year and without doubt was not phased with the task at hand. I rate Fevola and although he looked ready to cut loose at one stage last week, Will fought on well, especially in the last quarter.

Dont really know what to expect from Moore in terms of how far? He has been on our list for a long time. Injuries have hampered his preparation and has spent alot of time at Coburg getting himself right. Word around the traps suggests he might just be ready to have a consistent season and establish himself as regular AFL footballer.

Polak & Shultz look like easing some of TW's problems as the extra tall defender.

The Tigers also have Silvester in the reserves. Note, the development of Foley & King at Coburg in recent years has certainly helped. If our luck continues, Silvester may strengthen our options.

On a final note, it may pay for Richmond to trade and get a mature bodied defender (say 24 - 26) at seasons end. I know this might sound ugly for some, but something to consider.
P.S I'll keep you posted on that one in July ;)

I really want to get Brent Prismall to the club. Hes the type we need. Smart, inside, great skills, he'd be a great addition to the midfield, and the Cats look certain to trade him off the end of the year as he simply cant get a spot.
As for a big bodied defender, anyone in particular?

If we were going to do that shouldn't we have done it 3 years ago, or at least before we got Polak?

Skills when you say we have a plan is there any sarcasm involved?

If you are serious can you give us any ideas on who we are chasing?

please just give me something

8) What I like about any teams backline is when players can play forward as well,i.e *smile*,Polak, and yes Bowden. It is called versatility.

Yeah it is exciting to think of what could be, but we need to find players that can play one position before looking at two

Once someone like *smile* can hold one position then we can start looking at changing (versitility)

But in saying that there is alot of potential with *smile*/Polak
