our young talls look good and promising for the future ....all great kicks and marks.with good agility and speed

FB: Thursty
CHB: Polak
3rd tall defender: McGuane
CHF: JR
FF: Schulz
3rd tall forward: Hughes
Ruck: (most likely drafted this year, Kreuzer/Bellchambers/McEvoy..esp as we're likely to have a few high picks this year) with patto/graham as serviceable backup
also p.bowden might be good as a sweeping defender or an extra forward...role should vary
that is a good looking list of talls.....on top of a few more talls we're most likely going to add to the list this draft and the next....should be good....

our young players should do us good service in the years to come as they develop...not just the KPPs....
in & under midfielders: foley, tuck, cogs, polo
speedy midfielders with skill: deledio, tambling, meyer (maybe..who really knows), edwards (likely), raines (believe will eventaully play midfield), JON (either here or backline), Conners (not super quick but skilful by all account)
other midfielders who look likely: collins, hyde (been good so far this year), others drafted later
small rebounding defenders: newman, JON, clingan (maybe), casserley, white, moore? others drafted?
small forwards: krakeur, peterson, others drafted....

don't know if i've missed anyone too important....note i've only really named under 25 right now....so all should develop and improve with time and experience....
and when u add a few who are around the 28, 29 mark such as j. bowden browny, simo, sugar, (tivo, hall, kingsley....i know not too many ppl rate them...but..just adding them in for the sake of it)......these could all be there for a couple of years more when we start to blossom in a few years time....

but our young players certainly look solid promising

You have to be kidding right?P. Bowden is worthy of no teams attention.
The jury is out on a whole heap of younger players including Schulz, Tambling and Deledio.
Schulz and Tambling dont work hard enough for mine and Deledio has been used in the wrong position.
Its difficult to evaluate our talls at all.Honestly i cant see any talent there at all unless Thursfield can show a bit.

P. bowden won't dominate but can be handy....that's why i only mentioned him at the end as an after thought...
deledio is a future star for sure....will be soon played in midfield...it's true..tambling and schulz can work a bit harder..but they should be good, if not great players....

well...u have your opinion as to the talent level of our talls....but....i believe most ppl on here agree with the promise and talent of the tall players i mentioned....
plus...with young players...sure it's all speculative since it's all in the future..but....then again.....that's the same with all young players from all clubs...
everyone talks up buddy franklin now....but..in a few years..who knows..

Very rose-coloured view of our talls. Massive question marks on all of them I would have thought. I'm sure a few of them will be serviceable, but wouldn't put money on any of them being any better than that (except for Riewoldt). Again the great white hope mentality in regards to Thursfield is amazing. A player elevated off the rookie list, who has only plays a handfull of games and then suffers a shocking knee injury. Yet the level of expectation and confidence that he will make it both physically and as a league player is astounding.

The P. Bowden call is a poor one. Sick of his pee hearted efforts.

You maybe right about the skill level of our younger players coming through and they may make it as AFL players.

BUT

The way they are being taught to play now will stick with them right through their careers - our senior players are rubbing off on them and they will take the same options immitate the same mistakes when they get older.

Richmond Football Team/Club has an endemic flaw in its culture which always shows up on the footy field.

As an example - take the recent palyers we "traded" to other clubs - players that were seen as not being up to the AFL Standard we aspire too -
Fiora - now a regular at the Saints and fitting in well
Roden - now a regular mid-fielder at Port and doing the job
Ottens - Now a regular at Geelong - not the superstar everybody predicted but a strong good player

Whilst at Richmond these players fell under the spell of our culture - now these Tiger rejects have been given a new lease of life under a winning culture and they can play AFL standard footy.

Right now my feeling is that we coud have all the West Coast Eagle's players in our line up but because of our endemic losing culture they would not perform.

There is a deep mentality fault at the Tigers - and I am buggered if I know how you fix it!

After last nights effort what I want to see is physically harder players drafted especially midfield types.

These players have all done no more and no less than they did at Richmond. Their ability wasn't doubted. They were all regular senior players, just like they are now. They would all be serviceable now and would probably have helped us win a game or two this year.

My memory is that we were pretty keen not to lose Ottens but he forced the trade. Foria gives the Saints nothing more than Tivers gives us and Foria still lacks a heartstring

The way you get rid of an Ottens is by offering a reduced contract. This way it appears that you want to keep him but there is a difference of opinion on value, caused by the player's disloyalty. You can't just punt him. That would lower his trade value.

It's important to make a lot of noise that you want to keep the player, too. A lot of noise pacifies the fans that the tradee is a traitor. Subsequently there is less recrimination if he kicks on at the next club (seldom happens).

This is how we got rid of Ottens. Our idea and a good one IMO, leaving aside the vexed question of how we disposed of the magic beans that we got for the donkey.

Fortunately he hasn’t kicked on to any extent, at least there is still a chance the magic beans might still grow into something

We need more beans. Is that how we got Gas?
