Game day The Mighty Tigers vs The Old Codger Hawks

How are the headlines doing the rounds "Injury depleted Hawks overrun by Tigers" and "Ruthless Richmond rolls injury-cruelled Hawthorn"

Get *smile*ed, all of you media wankers.

Hear, hear.

That was as convincing a six-goal win as you'd see. The game began on their terms and we relentlessly turned it our way as the day progressed.

Richmond crowd were very loud yesterday. Felt like 80% of the stadium were RFC supporters. Turning out to be a really enjoyable season as a spectator. Dare I say it has a 2017 feel about it, with the supporters riding each bump and lifting the team. Good to be underdogs again.

McEvoy was a big loss for them, he's been in scintillating form. Losing rotations is never a good thing. Thing is that was our own situation last week and we still won. It shows the difference between a good side and an average side.

Its kind of a backhanded compliment that the press don't acknowledge our injuries. Because of the clubs ability to adapt and cover the losses, the media are blind to the ingenuity of RFC.
If anything the media should be applauding our depth.

Its not the ingenuity but the depth of our players that have allowed us to win in spite of the injury toll.

In fact if it wasn't for the injuries we would not have known how good Ross, Balta, Stack, Bolton and Soldo are.

Really? I expect most opposition supporters are sick of hearing about it (although secretly envious of our kids)

Happened to hear Maher and Dal Santo covering our game on SEN as I was out and about in the car around lunchtime. Actually raved about how well the club is doing totally and then on field, with the successful introduction of so many performing young players in spite of the heavy injury toll.

Especially compared to the Blooz despite all their high draft picks! Music to my hears - neither being a Richmond lover. [Must have been having humble pie for their own lunch]

:clap :clap

Yep, two down against Freo and clobbered them.

I think tipsters look at our injuries and think "oh yeah, chance of an upset". Let's keep proving them wrong.

Before season's end we still need to beat at least one of Geelong, Collingwood, GWS. We still haven't beaten anyone good yet but with Cotch and Jack back we have a good chance of doing so. In the meantime we keep on keeping on.

Good times.

Freo in Perth and Port in Adelaide were great wins; both were travelling very well at the time we played them.

But yeah we haven't beaten any of the top echelon teams yet. That said of those teams we have only played Scumwood and Giants. I'm happy to take on anyone at the G; if we are at our best Scumwood is the only team that really worries me.

surely there is ingenuity in the way we develop players that come in to the team and are ready to play the way the club wants?
the club knew the players you mentioned could come in and do the job.

Weirdly enough Parrot lauded us on the AFL site for being able to do what we’ve done with the injuries.

His building us up for a wack

What a ripping day at the footy. Caught up with Leysy, Caesar, Taz & Mr B. Then later Spook & then the great Dyer'ere & Gypsy Jazz for the first time.
Tremendous. :beer
Was a beauty , the post game London discussions were nearly as good as knocking of the Hawks, how good is it when they have cold beer and bloody hot wings, you know your having a good day when you walk back through Yarra park and stumble across one of those Citi bikes that’s been dumped and what was even better it had a basket on it so I got to 7/11 in a smidge of the time, loaded up my basket with the necessities and pedalled back to the hotel.

P.s last time I saw a bloke wearing a vest was on a golf course.....class
