Game day thread vs Swans

agree rexy - if we cannot improve with these players what do we have to look forward to? This is most heart breaking.

One of the commentators, cant remember who, summed it up perfectly today by saying we lost the game because we started with a defensive mindset. Where was Lids when the game was there to be taken by the scruff, played down forward, down back, any where, but on the ball where he can dominate. Game over at half time and what do we do move him into the midfield and we start to gain some momentum. We will end up losing Lids to one of the better teams because we do not give him opportunity if were not careful. The guy is our premier mid, let him play there, stop worrying about trying to outsmart the oppositions match up, all we're doing is outsmarting ourselves.

Put our premier players where they play best and let the opposition worry about us for a change. FFS why do we throw lids into the fray only when its game over. We start with a negative mindset and its reflected in the way we start games.

Same happened at the start of last year. History is just repeating. We had the game for the taking at times today, but couldn't take it because we didn't believe we could. How the hell can the players believe they can when the coach starts of with a starting line up that clearly says he doesn't believe he can.

Someone should be shot for Richo lining up today. Clearly not right, missed chunks of the game and the parts that he was on he was hobbling like an old sailor. Cuz missed weeks after being put back on when he had issues, we put Richo back on last week when he was not right, and played him again today when he clearly was not right. Surely the medical staff must go with Terry.

Very disappointed with the coaching today and the medical staff that meant we went in undermanned.

Felt sorry for Nahas today. was crucified by his teamates kicking the ball up in the air to him. Couldn't kick to advantage to a forward all day.

I vote Leysy for Coach. He has been singing Collins praises for years and looks more of a footballer than half them ever will.

No questioning the guys endeavour today. they were poorly coached, played out of position and let down by a few of their team mates.

Yeah Wallace is trying to be too smart by half, playing his tricky zones at the start of each game. It would be far better to play man on man at the start and see how that plays out.

for sure. you start to wonder if the club takes great players and makes them ordinary. Surely not.

They were praising jackson and although i agree with his 2nd half meaning hitting targets and winning clearances his first half was woeful, seriously his decesion making and kicking were terrible, i was pulling my hair out how many times he put players under pressure and picking the wrong option...to his credit he made up for it in the 2nd half and ended up playing well..

McGuane what a disaster today, hall always had him on the lead and easily out pointed him in the marking duels, moore too seems to be in no mans land, thought they were both very average today....thursty shouldve played today to help both mcguane and moore out has the closing speed and always seems to get his fist in to punch the ball away, when mcguane went off we were further exposed with a lack of height....Thursty, Mcguane and Moore showed last year that they work well togther and if ones down one week the other 2 are doing well or vice versa...

McMahon and i said this during the week to a mate, jordy was good against the roos but i dont think he should play against the swans they're a tough side and there will be plenty of scrimmages...Quite simply mcmahon who at times i thought is he actually playing only had 14 touches....

This is our problem, we try not to lose the game first . Winning is an after thought if its close at the end of the game! We were terrible last week in the first quarter until lids started to take the game on.

Jacko played a great role today in negating Goodes. Did you see the game at all?

both teams had a few duds running around but you could tell the disciplined, structured side from the one who was going along the boundary and making it up as they went along
