Game Day - Tigers v Bombers - Dreamtime at the G

Question: if Pattison is a 3rd
string ruckman (as Walls refers to him) and not quick enough nor skilful enough to play chf, then is that what we have to accept ? ie our first round draft pick of 2004 is destined to be nothing more than a 3Rd string ruckman

I suppose that's better than what Danny Meyer is looking destined to become.

2004. A year of circumspection if ever there was one.
Pattison is a battler that will prove to be okay at times,Meyer doesn't look like making the grade at the moment.

Admire Pattison's endeavour but once again we got killed in the ruck. Pattison is not a third-string ruckman on tonight's performance. He couldn't get half as high as Hille at the bounces. If he is to be part of the team in the future it would have to be as a roaming player. Just don't think he has the skill level required of an AFL player. We desperately need Simmonds back.

We dropped an 18 point lead with 6 mins to go.

Umpires are copping a serve from the crowd and the commentators.

What a let down.

The only positive is that I think I've just witnessed one of the toughest moments in AFL with Richo playing, unmasked, and throwing himself into every hard battle. Hats off to you Richo, you are a far far better man than me.

Absolutely spot on - I feel for the bloke, nearly shed a tear tonight. Seeing Richo punch the air in frustration/disappointment after the game, he really tipifiied what RFC is about, tonight. The young blokes (and a few seniors) should really take a long hard look at themselves and then at Richo. He may be erratic and enagmatic, but for F@(%'s sake, he was (tonight), and is, the life blood of this bloody club. If we get a batch of young blokes coming through who can do half of what richo has done for this club, then we are 100% assurred of success in the future. Richo, you are to be commended for you guts and passion mate. I only hope that RFC can experience success whilst you are still around. If anyone deserves it, its you mate ;-) I realy hope it happens soon for you!!

Go tiggees

Disgrace!!!

Hird winning the medal. >:( >:( >:( >:(

I dont know who won the "award for p155ing me off more" - Brett Alan for the free against Richo or Hird winning that sh1t boomerang. But since i saw the game in full and suddenly i found myself removing my foot from the TV after Hirds award, i would say that Hird was the winner. Allan, you should know better after 323 games! Farkhead!

We were robbed, and that 50 against Richo was a joke. How about Mcphee kicking the ball away when Richo got a free i think it was in the 2nd Q and the ump gave no 50mtr.

I am just so disillusioned at the minute, worst feeling ive had from all the games, Mal Michael is pushing back in to Richo, Richo holds his ground and mind u his "one hand" was more so on the side than directly in his back and how could idiot Brett Allen really see that from front on, he made a massive error and it cost us the match. >:(

Stuart Diver spoke to the club yesterday.

Must have told the blokes its never over and never give up hope. Interesting move by March.

How inspirational. A man who became famous waiting for others to dig him out of the hole he was in.

aaaaaanyways....it's 0-9.....JR had his first run, that's nice, 2 & 18 AT LEAST are ours NOT to stuff up, and 2008 will be another year...who've we got next week?

towards the end of the game....i really wanted to see us win, just to see the joy on the boys' faces after so many losses in a row....but...after the result was decided...wasn't too disappointed with the narrow loss....our aim this year should be to remain competitive, showing great upside and potential....whilist getting our early picks and priority pick.....can't lose sight of the future....short-term pain is worth it for us to achieve long-term glory..

draft picks..important...just like how bombers were robbed out by key injuries....but got early picks....we're in a similar boat...

Even though the pathetic umpiring decision on Richo last night COULD HAVE robbed us the game (especially the 50 metre penalty), the main culprit was a player (can't remember who) on the forward flank near MCC who instead of kicking directly forward to Patto near our goals, he went backwards into the centre which later caused a turnover and the Bummers started scoring and picked up momentum.

yes was at the game last night very i thought we would get home when richo slotted through number 4 ,very dissapointing and shattered to lose especially to the bumbers . I had a look at some of the stats and we had alot more clangers than the bumbers which is still a concern i think it was 39 to 22 . Having said that if you look at the sides we had polo, brown, cogs, simmonds and imo they are very important players to the team all out of the side and the bumbers were at full strength virtually and at times our leg speed was making them look slow. Its horrible to be 0-9 but the big picture for the future looks ok, with our team at full strength and a few good draft picks in 2008 then i think we will be okay in the coming years.

Gut wrenching loss, still staggered to see we lost it.
Didn't look like we played tempo footy just didnt get the ball in the last 5 minutes. We don't know how to win a game at the moment and we let Essendon back in.

Richo great effort to play in that condition wished we had more support for you there. Kingsley was handy and presneted well from Chf but not good enough close to goal. Riewoldt only young and valuable experience.

Thought Bowden would have been better on Lucas (Newman on Hird) and have Polak at CHF with Jack on a flank. Smaller backman have beaten Lucas in recent times.

Jackson had a good cameo up forward, but that would be as good as it gets for him as a forward, better as running hbf but good to see him add another string to the bow.

Patto battled but is better as second ruckman supporting Simmonds at this stage and popping occasionally deep in forward line.

King continues to show a bit but his kicking is sometimes astray.

Sadly two players I like Tuck and Johnson really struggled in turnovers and Johno fumbling and not body contesting didnt look good, I hope he looks at that and knows it was bad as he is better than that.

Just would love a win really bloody soon. Big chance this week but said that last week. I think if we did have 2-3 wins this year already (say Blues and Pie) we would have won last night. Just want one win so as I think I worked I can only see 6 more games this year live unfortunately.
