Game Day - Tigers v Weagles

I'll be optimistic - we are on the improve, and these other teams like Freo, Saints, maybe WC, are at their peak and on the downward trend (I hope).

Commentators are giving a rap to Roach, his opponent Braun has only had 9 possessions. Not sure whether that's just because they know his career may be on the line.

While I would like to be positive about that - its been such a slashing from Judd and Cousins that it could easily be a case of their being no room for Braun to get into the play.

Quentin Lynch - the next American punter?

Final score

Tigers 12.13.85
West Coast 26.17.173

At least the Tiges held off the Eagles from a 100+ point win. And we outscored the Eagles in that quarter.

Very few positives, but one that Raines, Deledio, Polo were the 3 top possession getters.  Add in Foley, Tambling and Howatt, and you have 6 out of top 9.  These guys are only going to get better as they build experience and body-size.  A couple of more years of weeding and we're ready to take the next step.

I agree. Any new talls are really three years away though. BUT the backline is going to be presenting very, very different look in two years time.

My final match report.

The good news - it's over.
Others who did ok in the end were Lids, Tambling and Raines. Thought J.Bowden was actually very good too.

Hall of shame winners today - Hyde, *smile*, Tivendale, Tuck. They had some mates who were close too.

Very disappointing effort. Cut to pieces by Judd & Cousins. Roach did keep Braun quiet but WC had no need to try to break that tag such was their midfield dominance. I can't wrap Tommy up very much on that performace. When he got the ball, he was a liability.

To have nobodies in LeCras and Armstrong combine for 9 goals was a fair indictment of ourbackline woes. Not all our fault (ie, injuries) but a problem nonetheless.

I'll get over it, but I don't think there was much to take from that effort. If nothing else, can only hope it stings throughout the pre-season.

PS. Judd very quick to add it was only cramp when interviewed after the game. I wasn't totally convinced ... despite him swaering on his mother's life!

if any of you ferals seriously think we have improved then you need to get your head checked, our last 3 wins have been against teams playing for draft picks and when we come up against quality opposition we are weak as *smile*

raines, lids, polo and bowden stand up fellas

the rest are a disgrace

Well Evanstunned,

Your reasoning is flawed. Last year we won matches against teams playing for draft picks, last year we also when very few matches aginst top 8 sides. This year we've blooded many, many youngsters and won more matches than last year doing so. So, yes, if that logical view is what defines a 'feral' (very derogatory word by the way), then I guess I am one.

PS You cant try and be the orginal Diggler (aka Laff), so why not try your own style? Makes it more interesting

Agree Evanstone.

I was at the game. I wanted to go knowing full well in my head that this game could get ugly. My heart wanted to see off Staff and Chaff.

We were easily brushed aside, bullied, costly turnovers, mistakes................

We were smashed in the centre clearances. The first half was close to the worse game i have seen the Tigers play this year. 54 pts

The second half we matched them , kicking for goal was attrocious and lost by 85pts.

We have a long way to go. Lets not kid ourselves. This will and may take all of Terry's five years to be a competitive outfit.

We kicked over 20 goals against weak opposition the last 3 weeks.

Our record against the top sides( top 8) is appalling. 2/10

Hard decisions have to be made at years end.

I have to take the emotion out of things, the heart and sit back look at this realistically (re the thread i started with Andy) and hope that Terry does the right thing and rebuilds this once proud, famous, powerful club where it belongs.

The funniest thing though, to change the theme, was when the squad would chant about Staff and seeing the big fella turn back and smile.

Clapping the punt road end( hey this is this site) after the game and the supporters loving it.

Seeing the chant come down to the fence at the goals and two security guards ruing a otherwise dull afternoon by escorting them back up.

Just loved it.

Anyway anyone else have anything else to add..........?

CC Tiger , it wasnt me.

I thought Judd would have a blinder, didn't have a clear match up for him.

You can blame all the players you like but the reality is WC probably have the best midfield in the comp and we're close to the worst.

True Jools, that is the only thing to come out of it.

Judd was owesome and those two kids for WC between them i think kicked 9????

Havent even heard of them and must admit i havent seen them play............

Yes we got smashed >:(but I dont see it as a real bad thing in the last game against such a hard running outfit, the boys are going to know going into the pre season, to compete with the top shelf clubs they must learn to run hard, fast an smart this they would have learnt a lot about today :help.
I thought the Deledio boy today was simply outstanding,Tambling did some very good running which of course must continue to improve but more importantly had some very clean hands in a tight spot a couple of times.
Hate sayin but I thought Rainsey had his worst game in a while, but I see he had 26 touches which is  a great sign.the thing I liked most is he kept running the lines even when he had a goal kicked on him in the previous play.
Whitey again was exciting I thought an I noticed every time we kicked an exciting type goal all the kids were involved.
Can anyone answer me why axe didnt get more game time in the last game an why Staff neally played a full game while Sarge sat on the pine ???.
