Game day v Dogs

Dogs game plan - throw throw freekick throw freekick throw - a lot of both tonight. too bad we couldn't combat that.

We will account for Freo next week.

it will be more than an accounting I reckon.

Our form is good

7 starts 5wins 1place

last start G1, 2nd by a half head after being hit over the head by the course clerk at the 50m. protest dismissed

Jayden Short has been a positive this season, don't notice him doing a lot wrong so far. Earning his spot each week. Grigg, Houli and Miles were frustrating at times tonight so one sided and predictable.

Just got home. Shattered.

That last deliberate free was the last straw for me. If the afl can't get umpires with some feel for the game they should give it away. Seriously dumb "look at me I am an umpire" free kick.

We were brave and undermanned. I leave it to the naysayers to have their usual gluttony on a loss but if we had Prestia, Nankervis, Edwards and Conca out there tonight I have no doubt we would have won. Plus the loss of Vlossy was
huge as he was playing as well as I have seen him for ages.

Best of all was the tiger spirit, they tried their guts out.

We will account for Freo next week.
Yep.

Good sides dont loose after having a 6+ goap lead.
They just knew we would capitulate

Short was very composed. Like him

Grigg got pinged near end but he at least looks for the right option.

Houli I am afraid is one trick pony.

coburg you've been on the money recently but this is incorrect imo.

we were owned by their mids. the margin on the scoreboard reflected their woes up forward, not our own merit.

we are playing without any synchronicity.

The style we play allows us to be competitive without needing to smash the clearances. Agree that we were poor there tonight, but there's a lot to like about what we did around that. Their ball use is blistering in tight (especially because they're allowed to throw the ball), but we actually beat them on the outside until we ran out of legs. Two 6 day breaks really hurt us.

When we attack, we're extremely efficient, and actually buggered up a number of easy opportunities tonight. And one 50/50 goes the other way tonight, and we're all taking about all the things we did right.

Good sides lose to other good sides. We have a lot if improvement from here (conca/nank/edwards/prestia/flossy for a start).

I think the thing is, last week, I was worried. We got absolutely trounced. This week showed we can mix it with the big boys. We keep beating the sides we should, and we win a couple of these tough ones against the top four sides, and we finish a top four side.

It's good news.

Just saw the team we fielded this week had the least games of experience out of any team in the competition. Another massive positive for those on here who like to look past the scoreboard.

Yep. Near enough is good enough at the RFC.
What steaming pile of .....Seriously?

Do you think any real Richmond supporter is not hurting after that loss ? Are you or are you happy to gloat?

The team tried their guts out tonight. We had 5-6 regulars out, we got royally shafted but we still should have won. Not good enough and we have to get better. I want to see us smash the dockers next week.

If you think that means I and others think near enough is good enough you are not paying attention or it just suits your agenda.

Yes. Posted on Thursday night we had 6 players 21 and under with Rioli having the most experience of all of them. Plus Elton with a handful of games

Still seriously bummed we didn't win though.

and the enthusiasm of the youth is toxic to the older players.

We should've won the game. Bleeding & hurting. I hope they can continue to lift a notch and as mentioned smash the hell out of the dockers next week.

I like racing analogies but hard to call any game this time of year G1. Think of this weeks racing. Wangoom or Warrnambool cup are listed races? ... Tonight was just black type, just.
This was not the Dogs Target race even if some think it was ours.
