Game day vs Eagles

I think it is also referred to as a mature team.

Maturity plays a part, no doubt, however when players such as White, Riewoldt and Deledio fail to ram home the advantage then I think it's more to do with a clouded headspace.

Last week it was some rookie errors, this week it was our senior core.

Robbo was pretty brutal on Jack and Lids on Harf time about the missed goals!!!

Good players should kick the clutch goals. Simple as that.

I watched a youtube video of Jack's 10 goals against the Weagles from a few years back. Marked everything, kicked bullets. Not the same player he was back then.

I hope the pain festers for a while, these are the losses that should be remembered as wasted opportunities.

Yep.

Leaders have to stand up under these circumstances. Riewoldt and Deledio are senior players and they both looked nervous lining up for those goals. The mindset won’t change until they start nailing those opportunities. You can’t believe in your ability to do something until you actually start doing it.

All the excuses are there, they are young, they have been down for a long time, they have been unlucky with a tough draw, they have pushed good teams all the way without getting a result. The fact remains that when the opportunities present themselves, they are failing to take them.

The worst thing that can happen now is if they have a letdown against Port Adelaide next week. They are a team which has been just as unlucky, and has been playing good footy and not quite getting the job done. It would be disastrous if the Tigers treat this game as a weekend jaunt and expect things to just happen. They have to keep the hunger for the rest of the season now, because this start means that they will probably be behind in the ledger all season now.

Our boys have to take the disappointment that they have felt over the last few weeks and start ramming it down somebody else’s throats for a change.

Bloody hell, I'm copping it from my Lions mate as I type this. Laughing at the fact that Hardwick said our season starts now, saying Hardwick is in trouble with 1-4 etc.

Telling me Lions are going better because they are one win out of the 8 (after beating Melbourne and Gold Coast). LOL, he even said Lions kicked more scores than Geelong, the 2nd best team of the century...deluded fool.

I said I would buy him lunch at Aria if Lions finished above Richmond at the end of the season.

We need to start winning games just to get these ignorant ferals off our back.

Now there is a $200 lunch involved....don't do it to me (again) Tiges >:(

Did you remind him that it was nearly 3/4 time before they had even kicked a goal against Geelong.

I think you $200 lunch is a very safe bet!

I hope so. I just told him if they were worried about errant kicking for goal, they should have kept Fev as he was a good shot for goal. That seems to have shut him up ;D

Tough on Lids. He was a long way out. Thought he did well to make the distance.

Dunno about that. He market at around 45 and everyone around him told him to have a shot. He had no probs with the distance.

He marked it just outside the 50. Kicked it from about 55m.

but in the last min with our last roll of the dice white is streaming along the flank most footballers are told to center it but white goes to deep in the pocket if anyone has recorded it ul see what i mean had he went more inboard jack was unattended and wouldve marked it but instead had to make a dash to try n mark the ball near the boundary line and they then rebounded, look not saying thats why we lost the game with that last play but 3 chances in 3 mins if one comes off more than likely we win that's why i was pretty shattered with this loss....

Just watched last 5 min, in relation to White, i think he did see Jack because thats where his eyes were looking, it was a slight touch by an eagles player that forced the kick towards the pocket, at that speed even the slightest touch can send the ball on a different path than the player intended, so i dont think he can be blamed because i think his intention was to centre it to where Jack was.

usually lids would kick that distance easy.l think he struggled with the distance having hurt his knee early in the game

That happened in front of me. Miller gave White a fair dinkum spray after that.

Very tough. It'd be tough to find a handful of players who can consistently kick goals from that range. Reiwoldt should have kicked it in the last but I distinctly remember many other kicks for goal that missed their mark earlier in the match. The fact of the matter is we can't expect every shot at goal to be kicked. Some will miss. Still thought we wasted more easier opportunities at goal than West Coast did.

we don't have any genuine game breakers - classy half forwards and or slippery small forwards, that can make something out of nothing and kick a goal or 2 when needed. We have too many of the same type - hard honest blue collar workers. honourable losses are to be expected until we get more class in the team.

He made the distance, but had to roost it and lost accuracy. I was thinking of his sore knee when I made my original comment.

Jeromey Webberley, the guy who hasn't played a full game of senior footy in 12 months, would have gotten us over the line.
