Gary March on SEN

not much said outside what was in the paper from what I heard.

Discussions with Sheeds are ongoing but looking promising.

He and Campbell are coming to the club not because they are Richmond people but because they are best available/best fit.

Finalizing discussions with sponsors at the moment and hope to have all sponsor tiers filled for 09. If this happens, budget is for a small profit in 09, but this will improve if we make the finals.

Kids start training shortly, with older players back around Melbourne Cup. Older players like Richo will be doing private training and returning in December.

Awaiting final council permit for the indigenous centre at the moment, and the tenders are out. If work starts around Jan-Mar, construction is expected to take 12-18 months, which will see it ready around Jun-July 2010.

Any mention of the player welfare/development position(s)?

excerpt from Realfooty, Caroline Wilson article dated Oct 21, 2008
"The move to lure back Sheedy in a consulting role after several failed attempts to bring him back in the past as coach is one of a series of moves by March and co to reshape the culture of the club. Long-serving player and former skipper Wayne Campbell has returned as an assistant coach, Tony Free, another former captain, has become a club director and Richmond is about to appoint a new player-welfare manager with ties to the club
