I heard that Terry had made reference to Geelong's 2002 VFL Premiership team in his press conference yesterday. It got me interested and I did a little digging. Hopefully some optimism for that 2011 pipedream.

Take a look at an article from June this year ....

Hopper,

I agree.

...and don't forget the under-19 team of the Kangas (1991) who made the bulk of the team that won the flag in 1996, and the Collingwood under-19 (1986) who then went on to win a flag in 1990.

Coburg having a good season shows that the wheel may be turning.... :)

the difference is that most of our kids are starting to get games in the seniors now

edwards, jack, connors, gus etc all a major part of coburgs season will miss the last few games if they keep playing well at richmond

the coaches will decide what means more finals at coburg or massive games against pies/dons and then stkilda round 22

How many games did Geelong win in 2002?

22 games, 11 wins, 11 losses, % of 95.27 - finished 9th.
I'm not sure whether that bodes well or badly for us.
Bad
Know what you mean, but shouldn't we be optimistic about adding further early draft picks? I dunno.
I think this time next year we will know where we are really at.
