General Trivia quiz

Man, that's a tricky one. I know Aquarium for sure. Think jimbob's one is Compendium. No idea on the other two though, and I read one of the bloody things only a couple of days ago.

Heh heh me too. But I didn't look at the 4 villages which from memory is usually in the front explanatory pages. Compendium sounds right.

Compendium and Aquarium are correct.

Funnily enough, neither is the first one that springs to my mind.

A hint, one starts with 'T' and the other with 'L'. I don't reckong there would be too many who know the second one off the top of their head.

Asterix and Tintin were my faves as a kid.

I can still remember that angry red-faced Roman yelling at his troops in one of the books. ;D

Yeah i liked Tintin also - live a very adventurous life he did i was envious.

OK, given the love for the Asterix comics, lets stick with them.....

Without looking up an Asterix book, name the 4 fortified Roman camps that surround the little village we know so well.

Ok, maybe someone should look up an Asterix book. We have Compendium and Aquarium so far. The others start with a 'T' and an 'L'.

Totorum is one as I read Obelix and Co. with jb jnr yesterday. Obelix sells menhirs to a Roman at Totorum

That is the third JB, well done. It is actaully the onet that I firt think of.

But the last one will be a toughy unless someone consults a book.

I just bought the whole set to have as reading material in my cafe, so i had to read one and just happened to look at the little map. That's not cheating is it?

Laudanum.

Disco, that's a fairly imaginative excuse for buying asterix books.

I didn't need an excuse to buy them Mick. I'm proud to admit that I would have bought them anyway at some point and I'm going to read every single one of them. :) They're a big hit too BTW.

A Croque Monsieur is a ham and cheese toasted sandwich with mustard and sometimes Bechamel. What is it called when it's topped with a fried egg?

Disco, you'll need to get TinTin for the cafe now.

The french toasted sandwich with egg is the Croque Madam

I thought you didn't like negative posts?

Streak, Asterix is over rated.
He's far too short.

Secondly he's a risky prospect, all the performance enhancing stuff he's on
