Good luck Andy Collins

Yep like the way this kid is coming along. Still adjusting to the pace of the game at times, but moves well and has a good head on his shoulders and thinks like a footballer. Generally uses the ball to advantage and will get better as he develops physically.

My only question is how has it taken this long for him to get a look in Terry.

Can't wait to see him with a bit of weight on.

Yep and that's exactly what I was thinking. A solid uninterrupted preseason and we should see this kid take the next step. I'll be having this kid under the microscope and really look at how hard he works on the ground.

A full preseason at "Camp Cuzz" will point a few of the young boys in the right direction.

My only knock on Collins so far is that he finds himself in damaging positions quite often through his hard work but doesn't make the most of them. Especially his slight habit of not having a shot when he running towards goal around 50m. If a guy makes the effort he should have a shot.

Other than that he has been the shining light along with Gus.

Collins needs game time and plenty of it.

Has shown some signs, but so have a lot of others at Tigerland early in their careers. Hopefully he is one who keeps getting better.

Collins is a good example of developing a kid for a couple of years as reserves level. A lot is expected of first and second year players and if given time in the two's like he has he is better equipped when promoted. Quality kid and a good prospect to boot.

Well done Andy.

Can't wait to see him with a bit of weight on. He's had some moments where he's looked a little slow to react and short on awareness but otherwise very encouraging.

Leysy's seen a lot of the lad & to his eye its not so much awareness as coming to terms with the increased pace of the game. Which is perfectly understandable in your first half dozen games, especially through the middle where time & space are harder to find. His awareness & innate feel for whats around him is a definate strength.

Still plenty to come on fitness wise as he's only had one pre-season. He comes off spent.

Leysy, from what I've seen so far I'd say his most obvious strength is the ability to get into the right spot at the right time as you pointed out previously. In the Port and Brisbane games though there were certainly a couple of fairly obvious instances showing a lack of awareness IMO. These weren't situations where he was short on time or space. This could still have something to do with his adjustment to the pace of AFL I guess and even if it doesn't it certainly isn't something he can't improve on.

Really, i thought he had a terrible game, thought he looked slow and turned the ball over :don't know

I thought he played poorly too until I watched it a 2nd time.

First half was very good, 2nd half not so (not alone there).

Some of his disposal was a bit off but he's going pretty well overall so far I reckon.

The primary thing to look for is footy nous. He has plenty of that. Adjusting to the pace as some say takes time. In the VFL you can get away with some of these things. He's going to be a very good player, you can just tell.

I think Collins has had an exceptional start, for those of u who thought he was poor Saturday night i suggest u watch a replay.
The Dal Santo comparison is something a person from Sandhurst, Dal Santo and Collins's original club, said he thought they were very similiar types of players and said when he was first drafted he wouldnt be surprised if Collins turned out a better player.
