I think it's time for our older 'leadership' group to be given the golden handshake.
Yes, it will have an immediate impact on our existing playing group - whether positive or negative is anybody's guess...and therin is the problem.
Our older brigade are not enhancing our cubs, in fact some of their displays are deplorable.
I mean, seriously, captain ' speedhump' Johnson running in to an open goal and handballing to a pack????
Browny, marks 15m out and decides to play on and doesn't make the distance???
Richo - love him, always have, but is now retarding the development of his 'replacements'.
Bowden, great clubman, has put in 3 good weeks but is taking the place of a younger option.
Surely we have to look at the future - we are not going to win a flag with these guys.
We are playing these guys out of sentiment.
Yes it would be akin to dropping a bomb (saying goodbye), but it is neccessary for our next era.
This is not a knee-jerk reaction to our weekend game against Adelaide, we've been dishing this mediocrity up for years (too long).
I just don't believe we are making any hard decisions on field.
Gotta look to the future.
